Stop using Drew Huisman as a scapegoat for your agenda. Have him at the next meeting to answer these questions!!!

Very gratifying to see the mayor squirm in his seat when hammered by the lifeguards’ comments and questions. Get him on the witness stand if the racketeering matter goes to trial. Duh, the devil made me do it.
After watching the meeting it seems to me that “fake news””liar for hire” Matt threw the “acting chief” under the bus. He aka fake news Matt couldn’t answer a single question as to why management was let go and that’s a shame. Is this the person we want representing the town? The lifeguards had one question, why? The lifeguards spoke with compassion about what they believe in. Colleen do you think you and the 2 others are in over your head? I would hate to lose all the experienced guards that protected our beaches. We have one commodity in Belmar, our beaches. There will no one watching our kids & visitors, shame on you “trio”…..pass the word don’t visit Belmar…..Game On….have a nice Summer….
What an arrogant ass Mr. Doherty is. “Did you read the letter”. Claims he didn’t create this. Just happened to notice down stands in July. Acting Police Chief on his own decides to replace Senior Staff making $15 an hour in February. He is a LIAR!
I’m not following. The mayor was told there was a downed chair or chairs, but never saw any for himself so he told the acting chief that there might have been a downed chair and the acting chief decided to blow the existing lifeguard system up?
I view this as a public safety issue,how do We recall the mayor?

The mayor saw the crowd of lifeguards, and I presume in anticipation of an uproar, attempted to diffuse them by putting the so-called rumor mill or something like that, to rest. There was no rumor mill and the angered and upset people were, in my opinion, more fired up at that affront. Leave the mayor on his own to speak on the spot and he digs a deeper hole for himself. Of course the council members sat by dumbfounded and silent.
The Trio aka Matt: liar for hire, acting chief (doesn’t want to lose his OT) & red faced Colleen have dug a big hole in the sand at the beach and that hole they’ve dug is starting to cave in with all the sand…..stay tuned when no guards show up….Game On….have a nice Summer….

This is a mayoral election year
Now Colleen’s is appearing on Channel 2 news with a false introduction to the Lifeguard piece. BA and Mayor are tripping on their trunks on this one.
The intro screams that they were forced to do something after last year’s experience however the drownings referenced had nothing to do with the change. Shamefully false.
A few things about last night. Matt looked pretty bad because for the most part, he’s a nincompoop. I had a good time poking fun at him. But whoever set that thing up was smart enough. They told Matt his part and he kept to the script okay, saying over and over “It was the chiefs idea” (the chief being conveniently away and unable to be questioned). I’m old enough to have seen this game before. Of course, he’s got a picked group of bottom feeders for the jobs he’s opened up. It’s a rotten thing to do to people but it’s done all the time.

As I listened it became evident that they’re having a hard time getting people to take and pass the qualification test. That’s just a sign of the times. There just aren’t that many physically able young men around nowadays (the young men who were there last night were the cream).
The armed forces are having the same type of problem – unfit troops. It’s very interesting how people are changing.
The female guards present at last night’s meeting were equally disrespected (terrible word) by the Belmar 2017-2018 Administration in last week’s Press, Channel 12 and again today when Belmar and the Lifeguards were misrepresented by Channel 2 CBS News lead by BA on the Beach.
Who called in Channel 2 News?
One thing that is factual that was discovered last night, is that it is difficult to find and hire competent lifeguards, resulting in a diminished seasonal crew.
So,lets take a minute and do some simple Math.
Mayor Doherty: I have a great idea!!! Lets fire the lifeguard leadership!! We can come up with a great story line as to why. In turn we will anger the rank and file lifeguards and approximately 50% will leave Belmar to work other beaches for MORE MONEY. If our plan works, we will have 14 lifeguards remaining that will watch 1.3 miles of ocean for the Summer 2018 season!!!!
Colleen Connelly: Matt, you are absolutely brilliant. That Georgetown education is really starting to shine through your wife’s successes.
Hold onto your kids this summer folks. Might want to buy your beach badges somewhere else.
Spin control wifey. She’s the puppet master and the dancer is doing her bidding. Photo shoot. Publicity is name recognition good or bad. Just destroying lives disn’t mean anything.
Truly disgusted with the manner in which this was done. It’s like breaking up with your spouse by text. I would suggest all the lifeguards leave, and then good luck to the hiring committee as they stumble in their NEW DIRECTION. The administration wants its lifeguards to be professional although the administration acts nowhere near professional. No way this was done because of unmanned stands!
Is it me or does Colleven only Own the same flowing robe type sweaters that she wears over her same outfit every council meeting she has about three different styles of clothes and they all look the same. Kinda like a super hero but of the bad guy side. Like a queen of mean.
She has to look her best for Dave’s camera, lol… If you go back in past video’s, she’s changed her appearance a little bit..
I would like everybody here to watch the video of the council meeting and fast forward to the 57:00 min mark. At this point in the video Micky MacDonald is explaining to the head screwball that his mother died on a unguarded beach in 1993. Believe it or not this jack wagon of a Mayor interrupts Micky to notify him that he had “one more minute to talk”. I really think this Mayor is in over his head. UNREAL!!!!!
This video should be placed in the Fiction aisle of Barnes and Noble Book store, because nobody would believe it if they didn’t see it for themselves.

Point 1. Starting with the Verizon issue Id like to point out the it was Mark Walsifer at the last meeting that pointed out that Verizon was like any other vender that would need to OPENLY bid for any contract. The rest of them were all gung ho! After all they heard FREE and were ready to sign. Never mind they were selling off our boardwalk for 40 years!
Point 2. Speaking of selling off Belmar piece by piece do not forget our beautiful Marina sold off to Chefs is having problems because boats are leaving. The Monster Grille no parking fiasco perpetrated against us by Matt Doherty and Colleen Connolly.
Point 3. Why Why Why isn’t the 10 Ave Public Safety Building up and running in perfect order?? Instead we had all the politicians come down for a photo op stroking themselves how wonderful they are as they unveiled the Taylor Catering Hall. Don’t forget that is another wrong perpetrated on the residents of Belmar. A FIVE MILLIION DOLLAR wrong!
4.Now to the Lifeguards. First I must commend them for speaking out. Next I was very impressed by their professionalism and knowledge. Im always impressed when I watch them on the job every summer. But hearing them speak was quite impressive.
I don’t know any of the management team personally. This observation is not about whether they need to be replaced or not. Although it seems from the fantastic job the crew does they must be doing something right.
My point is the mismanagement of Colleen Connolly and Matt Doherty. Once again they have created a nightmare for the people of Belmar. Once again they put out misleading information in the media. Once again Matt spins responsibility away from himself. Although he is quoted that HE observed stands down eluding that management was not doing their job. Also the headlines or lead ins from every media outlet make it seem those tragic drownings were the fault of Belmar Beach Management and the lifeguards.
Beyond the disrespect to our lifeguards is the belly of the beast. It is the disastrous mismanagement ego driven Mathew Doherty and Colleen Connolly.

Katrina, I think they’ve (The Trio) Matt: stay at home Dad, Colleen : queen of mean & Huisman : acting Chief/director of public safety have dug a big enough hole for themselves with this matter. After speaking with many locals the voice of public opinion does not hold the “trio” in high regard. This will be a public safety issue in a few months. Our town will be inundated with people flocking to our beaches with false sense of security. We must demand that all parties sit down and negotiate a proper outcome rather than the steps that they are taking which will prove that a catastrophe will be on the horizon if the keep going in the direction which they have…..Once again this is a PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE, who’s really in charge?…..Game On…..have a nice Summer

I think the 2 people running this town are not happy unless they have the attention of the press and the people.
Unfortunately it doesn’t always work out. More failure than success. I can’t imagine any guard on that beach putting down their chairs and walking off the beach. You would have to raise your kids on the beach to appreciate what they do and spend time watching them
watch the people kids and ocean.
