#3 – Yes, town politicians beholden to the bars and a police leadership culture which encourages a “look the other way” behavior regarding the mayhem surrounding those establishments.

Somebody made a good point. Nicolay and Doherty, as responsible parents, would never expose their children to the deplorable behavior exhibited on the south side of town on any given weekend evening.

According to Matt he wants to encourage SIDS businesses to have outside entertainment, all businesses. Is he nuts?

I thought Progressives were the opposite of Regressives. He wants to undo all of Kenny’s hard work cleaning up Belmar.

According to your Belmar Mayor “You” knew what Belmar was like… so your gonna live like it’s 1985 for the rest of your life regardless of the alleged increases in crime, drug use and maraudering drunks roaming through THE ENTIRE TOWN of Belmar.

What happened to crowing about how great though art?

Let me get this straight. For the first time in Belmar history the council doesn’t transfer a liqour liscence from 507 to the property approved to build across the street ( salt ) because one person complained about noise potentially from a few blocks away. Now ( and really never changed) we welcome more and more outside entertainment. Let’s add more on the streets and anywhere a sidewalk can handle entertainment let’s put it type mentality ? And the town is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars holding up the opening or preventing a business from opening ? Because why? Welcome to the Wild West

The next Mayor is going to have to shoulder Snakes on a plane.

Just listening to this past meeting on the blog video made me hear the coins rocking out of the Belmar coffers as the plaintiff lawsuits hit the jackpots as the Mayor’s plans for our entertainment venues are revealed.

This regime unsuccessfully tried to overturn Belmar’s pay-to-play ordinance …. a self admission that they can’t meet the expectations of Belmar residents.
Likewise, don’t expect any Belmar “quality of life” improvements.

At one point on the video of the council meeting, the mayor says the quality of life in Belmar was worse in the 80’s. I was here for that, and yes it was. However, Mayor Pringle worked hard to give Belmar residents a great quality of life, and Belmar became a beautiful small shore town. He gets the credit for that. This mayor is headed right back to those anything-goes days of the 80’s. And the majority of this council are drinking his kool aid. The leadership in this town needs to change…vote them all out starting this November. We need people that represent the voters that live in this town…not the business interests that want to control it.

The mayor was speaking about the south-end mayhem with words that sent us back 20 years. You should have know what your area was like when you purchase your home? WOW! This is exactly the mentality of some borough officials in the 90’s and this mayor is bringing us right back there. His words are dangerous to anyone’s quality of life in all of Belmar. Wake up people!

Out of 433 municipalities in NJ, Belmar is #45 in the NJ high crime rate ranking. Take a bow mayor and we will golf clap to your greatness.

#6 You are incorrect. Belmar IS full of drunks. There is a bar open at 7AM!

Check out the actual number of overcrowded shacks that were rented in the lat 80’s as summer rentals back in the roaring + 85’s Count the number of bars that closed or were burned down etc back then. Count how many sing-a-long entertainment venues there were versus head banging nightclubs?

No brainer. Kenny’s long term plan cleaned up, branched out to prospective homeowners that Belmar’sfuture was going to be geared to real families. The proof of the transformation was clear. People moved here, renovated and invested their futures in Belmar.

Now we are castigated for moving here knowing there was no future in the summer and to accept the causal decline of safety and civility.

How about tying up our ambulance squad, paid or not, on these “only 10” misbehaving persons (per the Mayor) transporting their fight bloodied faces to Jersey Shore Medical Center. Note to residents – Don’t have a medical emergency on any given weekend night because the response of help may be somewhat delayed.

Love the code enforcement dog and pony show. Next meeting will be a policing recap? How many summer rentals are there this year? 300’ish? Try 315. When this Mayor took office the total was down to 260’ish. Great job. Party on Mayor!
