A general rule of thumb for a Tavern/Restaurant is 6 spaces of parking for every 1,000 sq.ft of gross space. They do not have a dedicated parking lot and customers have to look for spaces in Belmar. It will be very interesting to see what happens in the Summer with the new Grill,Pier 9, 10th Ave Burrito etc.

Ask Brian Katz how he feels about his potential parking problem for his tenth ave burrito. He will get squeezed by anchor parking, marina grille employees looking for a spot to park ( about 200 of them) and anyone else looking to park. The borough has a parking problem and what do they do ~ add more and even take away – as in the case in the south end of town issuing one block of permit parking for residents only by the boathouse and on the east side of Main Street yellow out an entire block of parking on one side. Smart move Mayor. After watching the tape last night the answer (non answer) the mayor gave in regards to anchor tavern complaints is pathetic. Seating for almost 100 and not including standing room and the occupancy is 44. Just watch the numbers get adjusted instead of abiding by the code.

ABC Enforcement Bureau – Call 866-713-8392 – to report illegal activity to the Investigative Unit.
The primary responsibility of the Enforcement Bureau is to institute disciplinary proceedings against licensees and permittees who violate ABC laws or regulations. In its capacity as the prosecutorial arm of the Division of ABC, the Bureau’s objectives are to increase compliance with applicable laws, protect the collection of taxes and maintain trade stability in the industry.
The Bureau reviews reports of violations by licensees of the ABC laws and regulations. Upon a determination of a violation, the Bureau institutes disciplinary proceedings. The type of violation charged and penalty imposed is dependent upon the seriousness of the violation and the prior history of the violator. Serious and continuous violations by licensee/permittee can lead to suspension of license, monetary offers in lieu of suspension or revocation of license. Less serious infractions, especially when committed by first offenders, are dealt with by monetary penalties and warnings.

Lack of leadership. On both noise complaints the mayor suggests talking to the chief of police. No Mayor, it is your job to talk to the chief of police. That is why they brought it to your attention at a council meeting. This is your job to make sure it gets fixed. Period.

Where is Jennifer Nicoly to protect the residents from all the noise? Didn’t she say no to Salt so residents of the area wouldn’t have to put up with noise and drunken people? HYPOCRITS

Call the police, call the police, the residents are told to call the police or there is no violations or for that matter even considered.

Does anyone know the 3 properties that were denied COs this year as shared by Matty D at the meeting? Hard to imagine they had a more negative impact than the combined properties of 101, 103 and 107 1/2 16th Avenue had on the surrounding neighbors. Admin, remind me again how much Mr. Tarzian donated to Matt’s campaign?

I noticed the borough version of the tape edited out the exchange between Tom And the councilman as Tom was sitting down. Not a big deal and probably wise but begs question of whether other content is being edited out.

#2, Well, the comparison of the rolling of the tape proves that there is hoodwinking in Belmar. Does “Your Paid” Videographer’s job description include doctoring the tapes?

#17 Of course. When do the Mayor and Council members ever play anything straight? The propaganda machine rolls on. I personally miss the “puke letters” sent to the press that were spewed out by certain people. Expect some now.

Remember, please, that lawsuits abound and testimony is key with backup proof of whatever is alleged or challenged. The borough’s administration is not trustworthy, in my opinion, and they just proved it by editing the video.

The whole idea of video is so that the unattending public can see what really goes on at town hall meetings. Editing the “official ” video is all the more reason we need this blog and the information the tireless admin provides. The rest is pure propaganda. And the fact that there are childish and nasty exchanges is the whole point! Not everyone in Belmar is wearing rose colored glasses.
