Like the woman said. “This is like the Jerry Springer show”. How far down the political gutter our town has fallen. This meeting was 10% town business and 90% political campaigning. This is not running the town for the people.
Dave, you are increasingly going off the rails and your anger and rage have taken over. This site is now a big joke and platform for your extreme views. Get a grip man.
Explain?
With all the problems throughout town… the debt, the flooding, the heroin problem, all the infrastructure problems, etc.,etc., this Mayor takes the time to be part of a concerted effort to politicize a public meeting. That’s terrible.
Guess there are no limits to what he’ll do to try and help his campaign.
What a poor display of chairing a public meeting as Matt Doherty went on a self serving political rant.
NONSENSE FOR BELMAR, GET A LIFE. YOU SHOULD DROP THE “N” IN YOUR NAME TO REFLECT WHAT YOU HAVE “NO SENSE” THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN A GOOD MANY YEARS THAT THE PEOPLE OF BELMAR “HAVE A GRIP” THANKS TO DAVE’S HARD WORK MAINTAINING THIS SITE.
BTW, I believe in free speech and, as you see, even post comments that attack me.
I sent a comment into their website and it was pulled down minutes later. No free speech allowed with that crowd.
Doherty out of control, desperate and trying any despicable act to get elected. Fact is the man is incapable of administrating a town with honesty, transparency or fiscal responsibility. His personal agenda comes first, always will, and the taxpayers will pay the price.

Anonymous, continue to remain anonymous. Vito, keep trying to play godfather. It’s sad. Keep being Dave’s echo chamber. I would like to listen to other’s viewpoints to understand differences and maybe even support them but this site is Nonsense for Belmar. Too bad because if done well could have been useful.
BTW, a bunch of different commenters use the name “anonymous”. It’s not just one person.
Nonsense for Belmar: This site is for people to share their views with what is going on in their town. I’m sorry that you do not like this but they have the right to think and to express their opinions.
The Admin. of this site does not send in the comments, people do that themselves. He does have the right to express his opinion as well. I like what he writes and the way
he writes it.
Tulip, read back and see that I never suggested people don’t have the right to express their opinion. In fact, when I express mine many on this site said to get lost and go to other websites or start my own. It is they you should be critical of…no tolerance for viewpoints that do not align with theirs…just watch and read for yourself and that point will be crystal clear to you. One channel, theirs, and I should stay out.
Unlike the Dems, I allow all voices to be heard here.
you do and kudos on that small point, but many of your readers are intolerant. Don’t label all Dems, reread your own comment and see your own intolerance…not all Dems, remember that.
Review of So-called Mayor & Council Meeting 10/16/2014
As many of you know, I love to review. You can find me on TripAdvisor: Ted E. , Belmar. Last night’s meeting was another example of an orchestrated public event run amuck. Besides the successful attempt to prevent an important law suit, the evening was engineered to discredit and demonize Dave Schneck. The majority of planned speakers, in the tradition of the Salem witch trials, had their way and say. To quote poor King Henry,”who will rid me of this meddlesome priest?”
You would think that Dave was running for office! Thank God, that the people who are running against the Doherty machine of self-interest over service left the meeting unscarred. Yes, there is a God. (I said that just to piss off the political correct types.) Yes, there is a First Amendment Mrs. Powel, “if we can keep it”.
Last night, I was transported in my thoughts, back to 2010 and the town hall meeting at the Taylor Pavilion. Then Councilman, Matt Doherty was trying to contrast his candidacy with that of Richard Wright.
He failed to bring the mailer with him. I gave him a copy, he has never thanked me and he has spent the last four years doing to me, what he did to Dave last night.
Steve Edelman you passed last December who was a litigant on the successful beachfront redevelopment lawsuit in private, shared similar stories. In fact the town is full of similar tales.
God willing, we will live to be insulted, demonized, threatened, intimidated…another day.
The mayor can “spin” only so much till he gets dizzy and falls flat. Misrepresentations are usually brought to light eventually.
Nonsense for Belmar…You can write what you want but don’t tell us we have only one view point. If somebody agrees wih Dave you get pissed off. Try and say something reasonable and maybe people will listen.

I feel sorry for the labor organizations that gave $7,200 hard earned money to the Belmar DC with expectations they would deliver taxpayer funding of their apprenticeship program …. at the last meeting, we listened to them crying in their beer because they were ripped-off by the Belmar DC …. Belmar voters decided, by a wide margin, they didn’t want to bankroll the Belmar DC deal….
Labor made a bad investment and my advice is they recover what they can from the people that took their money …. starting with …. the good mayor living large on Inlet Terrace.
Sorry …. bump the rip-off to $10K+ ….
Regarding rumors – I observed the mechanics of the process at this meeting. Plant a seed and watch it grow out of control without attempting to correct anyone who adds their own misinterpretations. Someone starts his own rumors. In my opinion of course.
No Sense for Belmar YOU might want to try another site if you do not like what you are reading here. At least Admin. allows your blog to stand and not remove it. No matter what you say I see you as the enemy. I think if you are so unhappy with us you might try a different town.
