This really pisses me off! BUILD MORE BARS! WE NEED MORE BOOZE ,MORE, MORE ,MORE!Do these people come to our town and loose their S**t!They fly down our streets, don’t stop at stop signs, we are back to the living dead walking around drunk when the bars are out. Our police salaries are thru the roof and now we need MORE!MORE! Police to protect our quality of life because we created this stupid atmosphere. Get rid of all this crap, enforce the laws and stop encouraging alcohol as our only form of entertainment. We are all morons for tolerating this culture for way to long.

The PD can start by checking with Uber & Lyft for their pickup and drop-off roster for the evening. These guys and girls race around looping the bar zone a bit to much.

But there’s little that can be done at this point. This all didn’t happen over night. It’s been coming on for 40-50 years now. The only way to change anything for the better now is to bring back higher standards. Ever since standards have been under attack, we’ve been going down hill. But at this point, most people don’t want such a thing to happen. So many people depend on lower standards (or no standards at all) for their livelihoods. So, it seems we’re stuck with what we’ve got.

1:28am there was the call for an ambulance, Belmar’s paid ambulance does not arrive until 1:43am. Why? Because that ambulance staff was at Jersey Shore Medical Center transporting and “overly intoxicated female” from D’Jais. The call-out for a second (volunteer) Belmar ambulance, well that didn’t go so well either and it never arrived leaving the second patient (the male) to wait until 2:18am, 50 MINUTES, for an ambulance from Wall Township to transport him to the hospital. So Belmar has a paid ambulance squad that predominately shuttles drunks and fight victims to the hospital?

#5 if what you say is accurate, this is unacceptable. If true this needs to be published in the papers.

You can already envision the lawsuits by those injured.

    # 5 WOW! Like I said we created this mess. How the hell do we clean it up? We were on own way to change and it was all undone plus! These mega bars have taken over and put the residents last. We gain nothing from all these stupid events based around alcohol. When I was growing up the poor towns had all the bars and they are still dumps!Oh wait we are 36 million in debt/so we are poor. The only thing we are missing now is a GOGo BAR. More taxes so all these businesses can make more money. Residents are being taken advantage of. This is out of control. We need to take our town back .Enforce OUR LAWS!

#5- If what you say is true and you can prove it with OPRA material and such, I implore you to contact the Asbury Park Press and Coast Star and let’s watch the heads roll. Cha-ching, I smell another lawsuit.

5 – Let’s all just refrain from having strokes and heart attacks while our ambulances are busy transporting drunks from Belmar, and now Lake Como bars. Thanks past and present Mayor’s and Council-people.

#9 – Please don’t attribute this just to the bars. The drunken behavior is just one of the negatives visible to the naked eye. But there are many more indications of our slide downward if you’re able to see them, such as physical appearance (the tendency to being obese or incredibly emaciated), ridiculous clothing, childish/immature speaking, constant referencing the ipad/phone, tattooing, etc, etc.,etc. The list is endless. What kind of leaders do you think such people will vote for?

The only thing I can advise for you is to start weaning yourself away from this culture. To start, get rid of the TV (put it out on the curb with a dollar taped to it – the trash men will take it). Read anything. At some point you’ll read good writing. Listen to good music. Start cooking and baking. Get out doors – become a walker – always walk for a reason – never just “go for a walk.” Once you start doing these type of things, a whole new world of awareness will open up to you. Of course, there is the small point that you may be killed while you’re learning your new way of living which would be a real bummer.

They are not called GOGO bars anymore they are called strip clubs.
We might as well go the rest of the way and include them too. After all single mothers also need a source of income. Make it rain!

Today, Monday, June 3rd around 1:15 pm I was crossing 8th Ave at Main St heading south..Walked in the crosswalk at green light. I always walk defensively looking over my left shoulder to watch for drivers turning right on red heading west on 8th Ave. Proceeded to cross was in middle of crosswalk when a driver came speeding up Main St making sharp left turn onto 8th Ave …The driver was practically in the on coming lane ..missed me by inches..The driver slammed her brakes, then continued speeding down 8th Ave..This is not the first time that I have nearly been hit walking in a crosswalk in Belmar. When are the police going to enforce speeding laws in town??? Main St speed limit should be 15mph .. How about setting up decoys at random interesections on MainStreet? Enforce speed limits now before there is a casualty!

#15 – Try Marcus Aurelius’, “Meditations” and Eric Hoffer’s, “The True Believer.” Also, become a walker (all weather) and have a notebook with you to jot down a thought when it comes to you while you’re outdoors walking. Many ideas will come to you on reading while you’re walking.

#16 – Sir, that is a tough corner. My advice is become a J-walker. That way, you only have to think about traffic coming two ways. You don’t have to worry about turn traffic in your rear (the people behind you making turns are the ones who put the fear of the Lord into you). It’s all very interesting anymore.
