All you south end people who were dazzled by Matt’s crap about the outflow pipe thinking only he could get that accomplished can blame themselves. Enjoy the crowds, noise and general crap from the drunks starting early every year. You guys are on your own sadly you should have voted for the candidates that represented Belmar’s interests as a priority, Mike Seebeck and Jim Bean. Your problem not mine.
Just because the state said it’s ok doesn’t mean the town has to do it. Get a new mayor and council. They act as the ABC and can just say this timeframe has a detrimental effect on the town.
The 4 guys were just sitting around one afternoon trying to figure out a way to get the Newark parade people to come to their businesses instead of another location in the slow time of the year to improve the bottom line only.
Katrina, I think those old men who own Djais are getting tired. I heard that they are even considering changing the name of their band to Old Folks Holme.
Does Djais need a building permit or approval from the local ABC if they are changing the layout of the building ? I know if I was remodeling my home I would need at the very least a building permit ? Has anyone ever checked on outside floor plans of DJais they are ever changing and growing.
I again drove by D’Jais, the windows are not covered, nor has a privacy wall been built, so #21 what are you talking about. Also no evidence of construction on the patio #22. to both of you please provide evidence.
About D’Jais……on the State site, it appears that if the holder of a liquor license expands where they sell liquor (patio or addition etc.), it has to have prior approval by the governing body for each expansion.
“The governing body or A.B.C. Board must grant their approval or disapproval of the license transfer in the form of a resolution.”
“WHEREAS, an application has been filed for a place-to-place transfer (Expansion of Premises) of Plenary Retail Consumption License 0000-00-000-000, for purposes of expanding the premises under license wherein the sale, service, and storage of alcoholic beverages are authorized;” etc etc……..

That picture of our young women speaks volumes of the plight of our nation.
So much for Singer. Have we ever seen him in Belmar?
If I were a year round license holder I’d be pissed ! Just cost me $$$
I can’t survive on aspirins alone. Maybe I will now attend some of these bars.
Well, we still have an ordinance that limits the number of licenses based on population. I suggest we put pressure to have these fools comply.
The mayor and council want more drunks in our town during winter.I guess that is why the are adding on to djays bar with winter construction.
SIDS, SIDS, SIDS for more suds and a hotdog. No EYESORE on Ocean Avenue. What a joke. Call it puke around the corner game.
Aren’t those old men who own DJS tired yet?!! I know I know. Power and money. It’s not what you know it’s who you know. Sad sad day for Belmar.

you all get what you deserve. Your ward healer didn’t care about his summer residential neighborhood only a prestigious board appt
Oh, Raj Mukherji co-sponsored the bill? Interesting. Isn’t he one of our new attorneys?

Smart thinking. Great way to mix up some Irish names, ala St. Paddy’s Parade, into the mix of mostly Italian, Staten Island, absentee mail-in votes.
#12. They already have and its a Belmar Borough Ordinance since the 1990’s.

#6 And D’Jais’ property tax assessment went DOWN by $315,000.00 to encourage them more.
#11 Not a good sign.
This only helps the bar owners, and state tax revenue, not any of the municipalities involved.
