Doherty Departing?

Art Gallagher analyzes the Monmouth County races:

I found this passage particularly interesting:

I think he should resign because his violations of Belmar’s pay to play laws have disqualified him from participating in all sorts of important Council actions.  I wasn’t completely sure if it was the right thing for him to do though, so I asked a Belmar resident in a bright green room.

How do you know taxes will go up? You are so negative and must have a sad life…The mayor put in handicap ramps and visits people in the community. He is not going anywhere, as he is a man of fine character

#3 you are so myopic and biased in your views. The properties in Belmar are being re assessed. Even if the values do not go up the Boro’s expenses have and will go up due to the legal fees and lawsuits. If the only path to revenue is taxes and your expenses go up what do you think happens???? Unless you are a billionaire and plan on paying for Belmar’s expenses.

Wow! Now I understand why the element is so anti-Doherty. I will now go to my kitchen and make meatballs. Grazie. (But I still do not believe you.)

He would never admit he was wrong for anything so to resign will not happen. Just look at how they phrase their loss, it’s not about their agenda but they didn’t get their message out well. With Democrats it’s never their ideology that causes them to lose but they have to blame something or someone else. A recall is the only way otherwise you will have to vote him out, and the way Belmar voters vote good luck with that.

Tom great idea as long as they still do head hunting there. Cuba will never work unless there is a major hurricane and he and Maggie can gather political capital and major income from the disaster. I say New Guinea
