No mention of DEBT! Kick that down the road until some residents pass away and it does not affect them, some move, and those who continue to live here or move here, ask, “Why are the taxes so high?” Duh, just “charge it” – that’s the American way. What’s next, raise the taxes, I think. Matt can blame the next mayor for that. Or borrow borrow borrow, forgetting that the debtor is the servant of the lender. And keep the contacts in the proverbial pocket, of course. Jeesh, what a revolting predicament. Thanks, Matt, you are a peach.
Aren’t I great. I’m the best. I can do no wrong. Everyone loves me. Belmar will miss me. I always tell the truth. I am not a bully. I earned everything on my own merits. Look at me , I am MATT.

I don’t no but somehow I think this sene fits – But somehow I’m not shocked .
#7… Just trying to understand the tax increase concerns…. As of Dec 31, 2015, Belmar debt statement was $44 million… The most recent Belmar debt statement Dec 31, 2017, is $38 million…So the debt is trending downwards… Would like to understand if there is hidden debt someplace that I am unaware….
There’s also the $4.5 million FEMA community disaster relief loan. It’s not listed on the debt statement. Matt said that it probably would be forgiven. It’s due now so we need to see if that was true.
I told Matt during the public session of a February, 2011 meeting that I had discovered that it was a violation to build a sandcastle on the beach in Belmar. He has taken credit for that at least a dozen times since.
Admin (#10) Brian did not know about the community disaster loan when I asked him about it. He said he’d get back to me when he learns more. That was 2 years ago.
OMG Who voted to give him an A or B? Please contact your local pharmacy and see if any aspirins are still available. I think the “OLD MAN” might have bought the entire stock
The guy boasts of the “recurring revenue that gradually increases every single year” when referring to his great deal in Policing Lake Como. Well, doesn’t he realize that for every single dollar increase to the police service in revenue actually has to cost us three dollars. They pay 25% of the total Police Budget and we pay 75%. Sounds like a bad investment to me.
Ok, Everyone and anyone: the SEVEN YEAR ITCH is over!
We must move on and move forward with solutions to our problems while at the same time promoting the good graces of Natures blessings living on a beautiful Peninsula bounced by the Shark River Inlet and the Atlantic Ocean. It’s Wannderful living in Belmar at least 10 months out of the year.
Just read an interesting article in the Coast Star about Belmar hiring a new lifeguard leader. I just wish for once Drew would be truthful and just say the guy is retiring from the Prosecutors office and wanted a part-time job. Not to mention that he’s a good friend of one of the other Department heads in the Borough. What a bunch of BS. Where are his qualifications? Has anyone seen them?
It’s just the same old story. Corruption and Nepotism rule the Town.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE will do for the voluminous amount of data that the Beach generates. There must be a Baywatch program that Tourism Mary can pick up when shes marketing Belmar in Canada, Tennessee, Arkansas Texas and Wyoming maybe. Remember the Beach Utility Fund is an open pocket book as is yours.
Moving into Belmar and building a new home for retirement-thought it be a great town. i have been welcomed by less than friendly town employees who treat town residents like the enemy and some are incompetent. they should be treating us like shareholders in a corporation as we are like owners and not the enemy. i get welcomed with a message from the water dept. hey even if you arent using water pay us (wish someone would pay me for no service)and when you want to use the water pay to connect not to the curb but to the street–($4k cost)also you need to do all 100 feet of curb then we can increase your yrly taxes (i am sure). new mayor should have mandatory class on how to treat residents. everything i read about town adminstration makes wonder about my choice.
#25 – We should’nt look at things so negativlie. There is something to be said for high achievurs, even people who are high achieving in an area of life such as stupidity. Will Rogers said, “If stupidity got us into this mess, why can’t stupidity get us out of it?” – one of my favoryte quotes.

So, anyone want to start a pool on when Matt and family will move out of Belmar compared to when the tax increase will hit?
#7 Uh maybe 2019.

Ask Brian. I’m sure he’ll know all about it.

The debt service amounts on the Free FEMA loans, etc, will be our downfall. Taxes will increase.
#9 That’s not enough? Seems way above average

#18 Probably just average guy.
The guy is below average. Doesn’t have a clue. Just another political hack appointment.
If you control the Beach employees, you control the Beach Utility account.

Employment prerequisite: Dale Carnegie “How to make friends and Influence people” Untimely.
So the A & B VOTERS are really stupid. Not average stupid but highly stupid

#26 Uh??? Yes you are correct … Those people made it to the pinnacle of stupidity.
