This five million dollar vanity project will be paid for by Belmar tax payers. There will be no apologies from the mayor or council, there will only be obfuscation and misdirection. Mayor matt was desperately hoping he’d be sitting in Freehold when the bill comes due; leaving brian to fumble his way through a rambling, pointless explanation. Now that he’s stuck with mess, perhaps he can hire Epic to design and construct his elaborate excuse.

The $3.8 million so far is for both the 5th and 10th Ave pavilions. The total for the two is I believe going to be $6.1 million.

Belmar NEEDS these pavilions, after all, all the beach visitors since 2013 came here because of the pavilions. Were there not record-breaking amounts collected for beach badges at some point during that period?

    # 5 Yea everyone came here because of pavilions?
Do bars have anything to do with people coming here? You bet they do. The liquor is flowing.

#7 – The liquor always been here in Belmar. The difference is the behavior of people once they’ve got their snoot full. Like I keep saying, do the patrolling with dogs. Once one of these young people come up against a policeman with a dog, everything will change pronto. Have you ever noticed, once a dog’s hair is up on it’s back and it’s teeth are showing and it’s making all sorts of interesting noises, all discussion is over?

I think the dogs are the best idea yet.

Someone would have to house them and

feed them. But the boro would pay for

the food vet bills and whatever. #7

best idea yet. Many P.D. have dogs. I

can see that working in many ways.

Tulip, Yes, we could have a police dog. But unlike most other local PDs around here that have police dogs, I would want ours constantly walking a beat (not on inclement days and nights of course). The local PDs that have dogs just put them in the back of cars and an officer drives around with them. In our case, I’d want the officer and dog to walk. It would be hard to find a young man who would want to do that though. During the summer season, they could patrol around DJs at the time the bar closes. Otherwise, they’d just patrol randomly around town afoot. The dog would love it, the man, not so much until he got used to putting one in front of the other.
