Wow…..thank you Belmar voters for studying the issues and making your feelings known at the polls.
Could not have even won with electoral college system.
Great job Belmar voters! Now we have to get the Mayor and council to get rid of that fiscally restrictive ordnance he and the majority of the council put in place before the last bids for the pavilion job went out. That ” apprenticeship program” stacked the whole process toward EPIC. Remember we had 10 bids before that ridiculous rule went into effect. The town has to pay prevailing wage (which is a good thing) but that “apprenticeship program” is totally unnecessary and prevents many qualified contractors from the bid process! Epic’s president sat on the board of it. No wonder our mayor pushed so hard. So our work is not done. Come to Tuesday’s meeting. Listen and let your voice be heard.
Great comment Katrina!!!! A tremendous first step in addressing the infrastructure needs of our community in a cost effective manner.
I guess all the folks at the senior building were not “in the bag” as expected. Some of them must have eaten well compliments of the Shoprite gift cards, then voted “no” anyway. Really, how many of them hustle themselves down to Taylor Pavilion to hang out and party anyway. Can’t trust those seniors…thankfully.
