I know a guy who worked at Belmar PD as a Class Two officer and they do NOT received health benefits. He also told me that the officers who are at the Bars are paid for by the bar owners NOT the town. Before assuming you should do the research to see if in fact it is true.
#3- they are paid by the bars, but there is an included fee that the won collects to go towards “workmans comp and vehicle expenses”. The town makes money on every officer at the bar.

Ask your Chief of Police if it is true that the cost per Special is at least $35 per hour plus benefits!
Thank your Democrat legislators, who don’t live in Shore towns, for accepting monies to vote yes.
#1 – Unfortunately the bars are afforded our regular officers on overtime to guard their facilities and babysit the patrons who they intoxicate.

#3: you dear commenter are incorrect. Go to the video tape of the meetings regarding specials and lifeguards.
You can express a BIG Thank to your elected representatives in Trenton.
#3 – You started with “I know a guy ….”. Check yourself first before making your own assumptions.
