I was browsing through the Coast Star archives for information about Darian Vitello and it turns out there’s quite a lot of information there about him. Seems that aside from whatever incident led to the present troubles he was a pretty good cop and caught quite a few bad guys.
That being said, I just want to make clear that I honestly hope there is no merit to the charges he’s making against Huisman and Palmisano. And if the charges really are false it’s just an awful and undeserved thing for them and their families to be going through. I feel especially bad for the chief, who just recently lost his father. Of course none of this is good for the people of Belmar but we still must be told about about everything going on with our government, good or bad.
Anyway, I thought some of you might find this interesting. It is being re-published with the permission of the Coast Star.

I’m questioning why you would post such information without knowledge as to why the charges were pressed against these two fine law officers who’ve served the community honorably over the period of many years-I think you’re mildly admitting that you’re sorry about the postings but you feel a responsibility to do so (??)-but really-it seems as though any time you can smear individuals involved with Belmar government, you do so….you had no background of info about these two people or why these charges were brought against them-I really question your reasons-purely political, I’m sure-I don’t think you’re a bad person…..you just oft times use bad judgment-it’s my opinion and those of others I’ve spoken to regarding these issues (and I’ve spoken to many about this-you can be assured) that any opportunity you have a chance to bash your opposition you do so-Claire Deicke

So how did I smear them? I published public documents and the public has every right to see them. You’re smearing me by accusing me of smearing them!
Why was it necessary to do this-post info you didn’t know was authentic to begin with? Yes-I and many others believe you attempted to deliberately discredit these officers-why else would you make such ha big deal about this if that was not your intent? I’m not the only one who thinks this-you had no information of any kind about the background of these charges-and yet you went right ahead to damage their reputations-why would you do such a thing? Residents are extremely supportive of these two officers. You actually know you were wrong with your “almost apology”-believe me, you’ve hurt your cause….libertarian/Republican causes big time-I’ve referred many to your sight regarding this issue, and they are appauld that you would blatantly post this without (inital) authenticity-let’s just go ahead and do this-let’s hurt them and their loved ones-how heartless can you get? Claire, we own this government. It’s not your or Matt’s personal property. If you want to operate it in secrecy, and only tell us what you want us to know, then please don’t ask us to pay for it.
And by the way, I’m not apologizing for anything. I simply said that I feel bad about it and I hope it isn’t true. And I mean that. I happen to like these guys, especially Tom, and so I hope it isn’t true.
Truly, I never claim to own the government, and never functioned that way as a councilwoman……my point is this-no secrecy involved-wouldn’t you think that…..maybe they have families? That maybe they have issues in their own lives? That maybe your info is inaccurate? Say what you want-you seemed beyond”anxious” to post this info-it’s the opinion of many…….I’m just referring to that fact that initially, you went right ahead and posted this info, and really weren’t even sure that it was valid-you call that OK?? Not many people that I’ve been in contact think so-why do you take on the responsiblity to “sniff out” stuff to make people look bad? Secrecy is one thing, diminishing people and reputations is another-as it happens, Tom did have a tragedy in his life with the loss of his Dad……before you take it upon yourself to do this type of thing again , give it some thought-Who is this going to hurt? What might be going on in the lives of others? Basically, I think you’re a decent person, but are so anxious with your political agendas that you don’t stop to think about who you might be hurting-or, at the very least, get all of the facts before you go ahead and post stuff-The Coast Star picked up on your expose, also……just give it some thought….it’s great that you like these guys, but what gives you the right to appoint yourself judge and jury for the whole town?

Can you verify the authenticity of these summonses and if they are authentic can you tell me how to obtain a record of what transpired at the scheduled March 5 hearing?

I’m not interested in publishing anything but truth here. These documents were sent to me and I published them with the caveat that I was checking their authenticity. As soon as they were verified by April I made that information public. If they were fake, of course I would have told everybody they were fake.
And again, where did I ever say one bad thing about Huisman or Palmisano?
You didn’t need to say a bad thing-your postings say it all.
