Won’t handle Conflict/Litigation matters.
(We had to hire three other outfits to do that!)
Thursday’s agenda:

And the resolution making our professional appointments:
I happen to know George McGill pretty well from my hours spent taping my daughters at George’s wife’s dancing school recital dress rehearsals. I think he’ll be a really good borough attorney. (He’s also the son of the late Darcy McGill, who was a Belmar councilman.)
One more note:
SID hearing postponed until January 19.

Thank you for sharing. But can you solve the mystery regarding the address for Atty. George McGill as written and certified by our ever-vigilant Clerk, April Claudio. While I know that Atty. McGill lists no other law office on-line other than Pringle on 7th. That his residence is in the 300 block of 9th Ave., Belmar. Why did Ms. Claudio list his business address as 708 10th Ave., Belmar aka Salon Marsal aka Belmar Business Partnership. Weird but not on Planet Belmar. Maybe our new borough attorney lives in a chair getting facials all week. In Belmar, I can believe just about anything.
McGill has an office in that building on the 2nd floor.
Too bad no public comment. I would certainly ask our NEW borough attorney if it is legal to have 6 tourism commissioners (see Resolution 2016-15 appointed using Belmar Ordinance 1993-3 ( based on NJ law ) that limits appointments to 5, like f I v e commissioners. Considering that Frank Sementa of D’Jais missed all of the meetings last year, I say throw the bum out and obey the law.
Maybe George can teach common sense and what ethics are to the current Mayor and Council.
Thanks. He must be very good, he doesn’t even need to advertise. His old on-line description states he specializes in fraud. Hard to believe that he can make a go of it here, since there is no fraud that I can think of. On second glance…..?
Good for George, now we will have a borough atty that pays his quarterly S.I.D., I like that.
You know, for years the Mayor and BA have looked down on me, laughed, been rude. Fact is they are jealous. I out degree them. Not that the right school and degree are the end all, BUT. Here we go new borough attorney. So Geogie got his BA in communications from the very prestigious University of Scranton. I applaud his dedication to the law and the 6 years of courses ON-LINE to get his masters in law from the prestigious law school Seton Hall.
I hope it all goes well.
What is this?
No. 2016-25 entitled “RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RETENTION OF SPECIAL COUNSEL ON BEHALF OF THE BOROUGH OF BELMAR FOR ANIMAL HOUSE HEARING OFFICER”
We do that every year. Represents the Borough in Animal House hearings.
Do you think that’s enough attorneys for this small town. Maybe we could use a few more, IDK?
