Good News! Belmar Doesn’t Win Polls!

Every year at the start of the summer season there are online polls about which NJ beach is the readers’ favorite.  Two that would be considered important by people who think that these kind of things are important are the NJ101.5 poll and the Asbury Park Press poll.

Belmar lost both of them, coming in 5th in the 101.5 poll and not even making the APP’s top 7 list.

We also only managed only an “honorable mention” in the New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium/Stockton College study.  It gave the top prize to Ocean City (a town without a single liquor license, btw.)

Am I sweating it?  Nope.  The last thing residents like me need is more people being encouraged to come to Belmar.  It’s crowded enough.

maybe families and beachgoing visitors were dismayed because there were no crossing guards or traffic police on ocean Avenue intersections. I know, the police beach utility budget may be being diverted to the “pavilion” payload? Do know that insurance rating are devised by the cities where accidents occur /accumulate. not where the drivers live? check out Avenue j in Brooklyn… triple double parking… no ticketz?
