The town agencies do what the mayor says regardless of the rules and regulations governing the land and the council agrees with whatever the mayor says. He appears above the law and throws it in everyone’s face. We need the state agencies to up their game and make Belmar a better place.

If you go there today and take photos you will see the gravity of the situation: large military vehicles, all bathroom trailers from beachfront, booths the works. This is how I know the photos you used are not Dec. 2015. Just saying.

Actually I did take those photos yesterday but I was in a hurry so maybe I missed some stuff. They were also doing some kind of mobile inspection and I couldn’t get to all of the lot because it was coned off.

If someone wants to go over there and get some better photos please email them to me and I’ll post them.

The photographs taken are of Dempsey Park, 3 Acre Park is where the ball field and War and Fire Memorials are.

There is no grass in Dempsey Park, doubt it would qualify for “Green Acres”

Of course this was a 2014 issue, I do have to wonder why it is being presented now.

My apologies. I stand corrected. But I don’t remember any municipal equipment ever being stored by the ball field. I assumed they were complaining about the stuff by the skateboard park.

It’s being presented now because the document was recently obtained.

3-Acre Park and Dempsey Park are one and the same. The Borough bought it in the late 70’s early 80’s from New Jersey Natural Gas with Green Acres money, and turned it into a beautiful park with soccer fields, etc. Unfortunately, it was soon after discovered that the site had once been a JCP&L coal gasification site, which had to be remediated. As part of the settlement with DEP, JCP&L had to construct an impervious cover over the entire park, and install an underground filtration system, with a pump house. As part of that clean-up deal, and so the Borough wouldn’t have to pay back the Green Acres money, JCP&L constructed the basketball courts, and made a large investment in improving Memorial Field by installing soil, sod and an irrigation system. My recollection is that Green Acres signed off on the inclusion of the recycling center in the park because none of the equipment was on the park side of the property boundary.

I just happen to have The R.O.S.I. Inventory supplied, then corrected and then resupplied to GreenAcres. Three Acres Park ( named because it is GA Encumbered 2.96 acres ( Total Lot Acres however are 5.6 )Tom!!! is listed on 16th Ave. Now Block 137, Lot 2. Ken is referring to it when it was Block 137, Lot 14. There was a great deal of confusion ,as reflected Mr. Burke by a long trail of emails between Nick DeCotiis and Green Acres in 2008. It was resolved that Three Acres Park was 2.96 acres at exactly 5:42 p.mm. on 12/2/08. If you have any questions and wish to continue to make Dave wrong, please contact Amy Sumoski or her replacement in Trenton @ 609-777-0452.

Well lets look at 2014 Mr. Burke. If I am not mistaken you wre on the Planning Board that year. So it is evident that you do not know that three Acre Park on 16th is Green Acres funded and for recreation and or conservation? When you and your fellow planning board members reviewed and gave a go ahead on Chef’s revised plans and Cooper and all stated that it was in compliance with CAFRA Plan- did you ever know that the Marina was also Green Acres plus CAFRA permitted? Probably not. Now Mr. Burke, drive over to the Marina, Block 98, Lot 1 and compare what is going on to what was permitted, what was stated to you and the other members and tell me what is a “reasonable deduction”. I will give you a clue. What is the square footage in the lease with Chef’s? What was the square footage leased stated to your board? Now, what was the square footage per the Belmar Business Administrator as reported in the Coast Star two editions ago. Is it reasonable Mr. Burke, if the plans have not changed since Feb. of 2014 that there could be a 10,000 sq. foot difference?

It would be cute to have some benches added to 10th Ave too, with flower plantings next to each one.
