It’s easy to become distracted by the towers on the outdoor buildout at the Flames site, trying to figure what the hell are they, and walk into a pole. I imagine a driver could lose focus and not see around the corner, possibly. When the pull down panels are lowered, what then? Blind zone.

I “guess” it is safe to make a right turn from Main onto 10th or a left from 10th onto Main, not having a clear view of what is around the corner.

Interesting situation. I’ve never liked that diagonal parking and always thought accidents will happen when a person backs out of a space blind. But this is just a variant of that. In that the cars are out further in the roadway than if they were parked parallel to the curb, that in itself presents a hazard, but these days even more so. The overall diminishing/preoccupied skills of the drivers overall is a big part of it as well.
Nothing can or will be done to stop this diagonal parking because the ruling concept is to have more parking spaces. So these type of accidents will continue unabated. Look at the good side of it all. The flatbed truck companies/drivers are doing extremely well. Lastly, the police dept. should keep a supply of yellow tape handy at all times.

V1 didn’t ‘exhibit’ his drivers licence. Looks like a garden variety auto accident. They happen all the time, every day.

Look up “sight triangle”. The problem is more than simply diagonal parking and distracted drivers.

These vehicular accidents are occurring more often in Belmar…Driving is a privelege not a right. Many of the accidents that happened this year in Belmar were due to reckless driving and DUI. The buildings and parked cars are not the problem. Hitting four parked cars should not be taken lightly. There could have been pedestrians crossing the street or owners of the parked vehicles getting in their cars as the unlicensed driver hit their cars. Complacency about traffic safety has become the new norm in Belmar. No one is safe on Belmar streets.

Answer to mystery. Page one says it all. An illegal Mexican with an illegal Maryland driver’s license and Maryland plates. This, my friends, is why the Democrats need to go in this state(on verge of giving licenses to illegals). Word of caution. If this passes, stay away from school on dismissal. And check out their brand new wheels, newer that I could afford because I need to pay taxes.

Guy came around the corner and crashed. It happens. He has insurance and he got a ticket for careless driving and not having his license on him. There is a different accident (on rt 35) in that report though.

Six shooter – Do you know this person is “illegal” or just presumption? the term is undocumented. I am sure you like their cheap labor when it comes to the jobs citizens don’t want. I guess you are forgetting about the local who INTENTIONALLY ran down other human beings? How about check on the DUI records of many of our locals? Giving immigrants licenses makes them have to abide by our traffic laws.

Either you have a career in comedy ahead of you or you’re under the influence of narcotics. But let me caution you, using narcotics this early in the day in not a good sign.

But I do agree with you about the word “illegal.” I prefer the term, [alien intruder].

Just a car accident. No big deal. No one was hurt. so that’s good. At least the flat bed company got to remove the undriveable vehicles. Other than that, it’s just another incident showing driving skills diminishing just as all skillsets in everything are declining before our eyes.
