I Will Have A Few Things To Say,

Just not today.

Was up past 11:00 waiting for the returns and had to be in Newark 7:30 this morning, but I will have time tomorrow to write.

And I will.

    Looking at the results
    without the mail in ballots
Mike Seebeck wins 966 over Tom Brennan 840 and Matt Doherty wins 948 over Jim Bean 880…The total number of mail in ballots for Doherty and Brennan was 533
Compared to Bean and Seebeck total mail in ballots which came to 228. There were 761 mail in ballots. Should there be
a cap on mail in ballots????

The upside is that Matt can’t walk out and stick Bean with the bill.

Talk about sour grapes! A cap on mail-in ballots?? Really!? We should be limiting the number of people who can vote in an election!?! OUTRAGEOUS!!I’m sure if your candidates had won the election, you’d have no problem with the current system. BTW, Dave, your candidates lose so you want to change the form of government. I can’t help but think that if the council and Mayor were all Republicans, you’d be just fine with the current system. Oh, and Mr. Ehlen, your “Cumbaya” speech last night was SURREAL!! Quite a contrast to the angry, insulting man I’ve seen at other meetings. A peacemaker?? Maybe you were back in the day, but not at any meeting I’ve been at!! Props to Mr. Seebeck, who remains a constant, RESPECTFUL, voice of opposition. If more people conducted themselves like he does, at least the dialogue would be civil.BTW Dave, you talk about trying to move forward and get things done and the first thing you do is challenge the validity of the quorom. Get a grip!!

What an insult your comments are to both sides Mr Deakins. I will say this the people sitting on the Dias are there because of the change of government over 25 years ago.

Not sure what you mean by “an insult to both sides.” I think I was pretty complementary to Mr. Seebeck, on the “other” side. And it seems the people in comment 4 weren;t at all insulted. So please explain what that comment could possibly mean. The change in government wasn’t a coup! It was a legal change. Did you have a problem with it 25 years ago? And if you did, have you been talking about changing it or fighting for changing it all these years?? The people on the dias are there because a majority of the people in town WHO VOTED put them there. I’m sure we can ALL agree that more people should vote, and maybe that would make things more the way you want it. Maybe not. But this is how things work in a democracy. I’m not please that only 1/3 of the country just decided who will control the house and Senate, but I’m not about to suggest we change the whole system because it didn;t turn out the way I wanted. I’l work WITHIN it to try and make things happen. Saying “no fair” isn;t really going to help.
