Just Wondering……

Assuming that “safe distancing” is encouraged, but also understanding that trying to enforce it is very difficult:

Please, the boardwalk being closed is not about it’s actual usage at current levels, but of its availability of use. As the weather improves, people from all over NJ, NY, and PA will come to Belmar to either use the boardwalk or to just sit around to observe the ocean. Thus the significance of closing the boardwalk is more of a discouragement of people to flock to Belmar.

That’s the point. There is no place to go. Parks, trails, beaches All closed. Are sidewalks next?

I say it must stay closed !! If and when the beaches are open for business then open the boardwalk. That is my average opinion.

#2 – Go to the supermarket and pick up a small item you can easily walk with. Don’t “go for a walk.” Always walk with a purpose in mind. Never for exercise. After you’ve walked the first few thousand miles exercise doesn’t mean anything. It all becomes about what you think, observe and your interaction with your surroundings.

Speaking of sidewalks. What’s up with that sidewalk on railroad ave between 13 and 16 ave. It takes up half the road! You can barely pass a car coming the opposite direction. Plus, you could always park alongside there. With parking spots at a premium in this town, why would you eliminate all those spots
You could ever get by now if cars are parked and two way traffic continues. Who approved that! Stupid!

Excellent #8- Their selfishness and holier that thou attitude will and is causing more issues with Lake Como and Belmar in this crisis. It will only get better. I am calling on all shore town leaders to get together and lay out a unified plan for the summer. Uniformity is the key. Otherwise it will be us against them attitude like Spring Lake’s

Belmar needs to keep its boardwalk closed and open it at the same time as Avon and spring lake. Otherwise it will be too crowded. Be safe and smart please.

Make the boardwalk one way traffic & have the sidewalk be the other way. The paths around the lakes should be designated one way too. I’m tired of being one of the few people who moves over when someone is coming from the other direction.

#8 They have 30 minute parking for their business patrons.SL also has resident parking only for the block off main where their clock is. I agree surrounding towns should enforce similar rules and co ordinate with the same opening dates. Just Common Sense, and less confusion.
