Lawless Tom

As we know, a copy of all campaign reports submitted to NJ ELEC must by the same due date be submitted to the Borough for publication its website.  As of now there is nothing from the Burke 2016 campaign on the Borough’s campaign disclosure web page because he never sent anything in:

So you must go to the NJ ELEC page if you want to see Mr. Burke’s reports.

I did.

29-day pre-election report:1

11-day pre-election report:2

Grand total that he says he collected is $450.  So how did he pay for this 8 1/2 x 11 4-color glossy mailer that had to cost around $2000 to produce and mail?

One possible explanation would be if the funds to pay for the mailer came in the form of checks for under $300 each.  If that’s the case, they wouldn’t need to be reported to the state but it would constitute yet another violation of Belmar’s Pay to Play law because those donations would still be reportable to the Borough.

I’d love to hear a full explanation from Mr. Burke and as a candidate, he should explain.
