The poll on 94.3 The Point is now up to 92.5% saying they’ll look for another beach instead of paying $2/hr.

Dopey Doherty he should just put meters on the west side of Ocean Avenue charging $1.00 per hour where they are already allowed by ordinance. But he absolutely refuses to do so. No real reason just doing it his way in his town. Many, of the residents on Ocean Ave have ample parking in the lanes and garages in the rear of their homes. So really the only one that might be upset is…wait, wait for it, D’Jais.

Actually when Pringle tried to do it a lot of Ocean Ave residents complained. What they need to do is spend less.

All of Asbury Park’s are $2 per hour with a 3 hour limit near the restaurants with complaints of not enough parking. I am not sure the poll is what will transpire, most of the Belmar Beach goers are not from the immediate area and doubt they all follow 94.3 I think we have to wait and see.

I had to vote to see the results so I voted “Yes”. Obviously I’ve never used a Belmar parking meter.

I did not vote, do they have a feature that blocks you if you try to vote again?

If WordPress can do it and IF you have the time maybe some polls on this site. Please, I think it would be interesting.

I am happy with less out of towners coming this summer….don’t see the need to cater to the non-residents at the “expense” of us that live here.

Robert, spot on. Where’s the support for a good and proper approach to keep resident’s taxes low? Come, don’t come, rain, shine, pay, don’t pay, matters not. Everybody’s against everything, even when it makes perfect sense. Jaded, negative, miserable, unhappy people. Terrible way to live and they picked the wrong town.

Lots of publicity! …. I hope the new parking rate helps determine the value of Belmar automobile parking …. especially weekends.

I think this is great, let them all go to Bradley beach. We don’t need the pollution and traffic in town. The turn over of parking spots allows more visitors to pay for the beach in the afternoon.

We need to spend less. During the depression my parents spent nothing more than a few $$ a week.

12 REA, Bradley doesn’t have a 7-11 near the beach that place is gold mine in the summer and their prices are not cheap compared to Shop Rite etc. I think people understand they pay for convenience I could be wrong we will see.

I wish they Meter time was expanded. To when DJ’s was closed. Then they could leave it at $1.00. Mayor is not going to do that. Since he is friends with DJ’s Owners.

This will push the parking into the residential areas as it did in Asbury. We
then go back to cleaning up the garbage and bottles and have the privilege of watching the wardrobe changing. Our block fills quick we do have most of the beach employees which is fine with me. The rest
(some of) are not so fine.
