Obviously Manasquan has a certain small group 1185 NO people. I am sure this anti-children “element” had petitioners running around giving false information. Maybe the government can bundle it with something else and try again.

It’s funny you should say that.
    From today’s Coast Star:

Although he was unhappy with the results, Tom Pellegrino, president of the Manasquan Board of Education said he was proud of the work done by the district over the last 10 months and grateful towards everyone in the district and community who helped put the plan together.

    “SPREAD OF MISINFORMATION”

Mr. Pellegrino expressed distaste toward what he called the “spread of misinformation” in the community by “groups who didn’t feel the need to identify themselves.”

He specifically called out Fred Lockenmeyer and the group known as the Concerned Taxpayers of Manasquan, an unofficial conglomerate of community members who disseminated flyers and postcards through the community, which Mr. Pellegrino said were “riddled with misinformation … in an attempt to scare the voters.”

“It’s unfair to the children,” Mr. Pellegrino said. “At the end of the day, this was for them.”

Every time I hear/see the phrase, “It’s for the children,” I think someone’s got their hand in my pocket.

$11 million for the athletic field out of a $24 million dollar bond. I’d be voting No also.

Admin, shouldn’t have the sending districts been able to vote too since manasquan gets school taxes from Belmar, lake como, spring lake, sea girt and Brielle too? Makes a good valid point…

Shouldn’t non-resident property tax payers be allowed to vote as well?

Honest property owners who are domiciled elsewhere don’t vote in Belmar.
