Marina Plan Approved….

Pending east-side total makeover.

Don’t have a lot of time to write this morning, but I know many of you are interested in the outcome of last night’s planning board application.

The plan was unanimously approved with the caveat that the side of the building facing Route 35 (shown many times on these pages) be redesigned so that it’s no longer ugly.  A committee of those with heightened aesthetic sensibilities (I forget the actual name of it) will then have to approve of the new design before the plan can go forward.

A study also needs to be done to make sure tractor trailers with deliveries can get to the place and then get out.

Here are some snaps of the plans for the west side of the building:

How do they all stay so thin?

I also got this:

I taped the meeting.  It should be up here early this afternoon.

That looks like a lot of hardscape. Where is all of that storm runoff going to go?

The Belmar Planning Board doesn’t have jurisdiction …. the matter is the purview of Belmar elected officials. The entire proceeding was a sham.
    More bad counsel.

Place itself looks way too modern and has no style. What they should do is make the facade of the whole building look like an old fishing village. That would make it way more appealing to the eye and it would add a nice look to the whole marina.

What has our town council, (elected by djais bar) promised to the owners of djais? Why would djais be happy with Chefs INTL,bringing more competition.Cops like drunks & overtime, so I am sure they are on board with this fiasco.

Chef’s and their attorneys laud the praises of the two Chef International Bar & Grills. To get a better sense of what will be operating at the Marina, Google TripAdvisor: Baker’s Wharside Bar & Grill, Pt.Pleasant, NJ and Google: TripAdvisor: Water Street Bar & Grill, Toms River, NJ. Judging from the reviews you might drink there and eat somewhere else.

Researcher #6 not only what you said but unless their food is reasonably priced and worth the trip they will be short lived. The competition is fierce and the already established ones have a big edge, most of the fishing patrons will not go there nor will the people parked close to the beach.

Food is terrible at Wharfside and 9th Ave Pier. The building still looks ugly- it wasn’t just the east side, it’s all sides. Get someone with a little imagination to design the facade. Layout of the deck seems ok.

I can’t make it out. Where exactly is the building geographically situated at the marina? Is it near the gold course? Nearer the existing 9th Ave pier or closer to the L St. beach?

Did the revised design of the side of the building facing Route 35 completed? How can we visualize the new look? When is it scheduled to start construction?
