just ridiculous. They’re all liars
More lies. I believe the council and Connolly were told that last years starting salary was $10.35 not $8.50. And they still couldn’t attrack applicants. Stupid Magovern tried bringing it up at a meeting like he researched it, but was already told by a supervisor previously. Just goes to show how out of touch and total lack of communication exists.
As far 125 applicants I say BS! By lowering the starting age to irresponsible 16 year olds you will have more applicants but can they pass the test or will standards be lowered? Remember, you get what you pay for.
The new guy doesn’t have a clue.

I find it interesting that the City of Atlantic City pays rookie lifeguards $12.50 an hour, rising to $22 an hour for those with 20 years of service.
AND Doherty had the nerve to fire competent guards who have been there well over 20 years and only reached a pitiful salary of $15.00 an hour. It’s a crying shame. Be careful with your children at the beach this summer. Don’t take your eyes off them while they play in the water. Who knows what/who they have hired to man the stands!

I was just told the brand new beach supervisor with all the vast experience and credentials comment at the very first supervisors meeting was “ok, what do we do next”! Sure does not look like someone with vast experience to me. Just more & more proof that this is just another buddy, buddy political appointment! Could be a very scary, shaky summer! Good job Drew……
That does it. I’m getting back into shape and sending in my application.
