Well-bred people should at least know how to behave, noblesse oblige aside. Nah, just money buys a place on Inlet Terrace. Some drug dealers and criminals have money. A former Belmar engineer who was convicted had money. Some politicians have money.

We should not be be considering a parking deck. The town is too dam busy already.We are not Red Bank.

60 days of tortuous parking situation is really more like 200 plus days.
Business district gets screwed year round. Remember when all towns about Belmar shopped in Belmar? That’s because there was a family atmosphere. Now that Amazon is putting big box houses out of business it’s a real opportunity for skilled entrepreneurs to use our shops not only for the drinking and driving crowd.
Just yesterday was an example of poor planning. Forced jaywalking on 10th Avenue between Main and railroad. Park your car in diagonal spaces and there is no walkway to the crosswalks. Should we thank “pound your chest Bill Young” for his parking authority input or Belmar’s Engineers? Great lawsuits in the making. Bushes and thorns crowd the area as well.
Belmar business district and beach area are way too jammed with cars. Need more crossing guards too.
And Belmar needs more affordable restaurants
Look up seriously injured or dead pedestrians while attempting to at cross highways and byways.
