I repeat NO EMERGENCY ALERT to advise residents that the beach is FREE today. Just advertisement to whom???
One word Jack Ass , I didn’t know it was his beach to give away. I guess all the help worked for free today ? Must have sent the badge checkers home ?

Thanks admin. But can he do that does he own the beach where he can just decide on day to then next what we charge and won’t we don’t .
I would think they would at least have to pass a resolution.
I think they made to much money and does not want any State oversight. Probably the most money ever grossed. This is to soften any possible reprisals from the State. Where the heck does all that money go?
The beach utility owes something like $10 million. This was just a totally capricious misuse of his power and is designed to make stupid people think that he’a a really cool guy.
Ok so now the beach utility just lost over $100k today? And we owe $10 Million? Very dumb move.
When was the council meeting that this was approved at ? Best part… Badges not required but yet the gate attendants were still there today til 1:00 getting paid. Why ?
Anything to get his name out there.
Maybe they got paid for the whole day.

When they had milatary appreciation day wasn’t it voted on at a town meeting? Who does this guy think he is. King? And before any one starts saying this is sour grapes I’d just like to say it’s really all just to make him look generous and wonderful. Remember that is beach utility money. Unbelievable!
I found it surprising too as I was walking the boardwalk early yesterday morning and saw all the cars parked already – they want to borrow money for the pavilion and put the burden on the taxpayer yet give up revenue from an outside source -the folks who WOULD have paid for badges and parking. These people feed the meter early in the morning too… not at 9:00 a.m. so they don’t have to worry about coming back to pay.

#13 Fair enough, maybe it’s not hate, but extreme dislike? Having corrected that word, is there anything anyone feels is being done well? If so, no one seems to mention it or care. Just a bunch of Old Codgers complaining about everything sounding like helpless crybabies instead of grown-ass men. This excludes Gene C. as he is a tough sharp tack doing the real work, catching what seem to be minor details but are important to get correct.
“Grown-ass men”? You must have watched those Key and Peele videos, haha pretty funny, right?
To answer your question, the administration does a very good job trumpeting the things that go right. They don’t need my help. What I do is provide the rest of the story and based on the number of hits I get every day there are a few hundred folks in town that seem to be interested. You might not believe me, but all the time people who I don’t even know (and people that I do) thank me for what I do here.
BTW, Gene does do a great job and they completely ignore him.
The mayor is priming the D’Jais crowd. Get more messengers to deliver votes. In my opinion.

We all bring something to the table. To imply that anyone who may disagree is “old” is fascinating to say the least. To state that anyone who disagrees does not volunteer is plain stupid and gives the impression of someone who lives in stereotypes ala “predjudice”. Rest assured we have learned that complaining accomplishes very little. This blog is a much needed release. However we
shall quietly call our son- of- a -bitch attorneys. Since action is far more preferable to gab.
#22 It seems you get the point that complaining accomplishes little, so maybe that’s a start. It’s not the disagreement that makes most of the posters old, its that most of them simply are old or “older”. Do you think they are young in mind or body? “prejudice”? against what? I’m just an old fart codger like all of you. Not volunteering knows no age limit and never used the word stupid, that came from you. Angry, negative, bitching, complaining, not volunteering or helpful, yes. Stupid, no.

My Anthropology studies have taught me the need for social release. Why? to quote a 20th Century Philosopher, Satre because “Hell is other people.” Our pre-civilization relatives used sports.
