Yup, at his “home office”. Maybe Brian was not too far off in saying that the mayor was at work. Sorry, he cannot come to the phone right now, he is in a (special) meeting…

At 10:15 A.M. this morning the mayor’s jeep (with the Belmar logo spare tire) was parked on the 500 block of 8th Avenue.

Special election will cost taxpayers $13,000.00? I am going to do a reverse peristalsis right now. My kids are doomed with this damn house I own here.

Would Belmar Mayor be considered for removal?? Some municipalities and boards of education have passed this type of language into their Code.

    (1)
Attendance at meetings required; removal. In the event that any elected and/or appointed member shall fail to attend three consecutive, regular, scheduled meetings, then a motion to remove that member(s) shall be automatically placed on the agenda for the next regular meeting without further notice; and should the vote be to remove the member, the member’s seat shall become vacant until a replacement is appointed as required by state or local law.
    (2)
Percentage of meetings required. In the event that any member shall fail to attend to at least 70% of the annually scheduled regular meetings in a given year, then that member(s) shall be automatically removed at the end of the calendar year (i.e., December 31) without further notice, and the member’s seat shall become vacant until a replacement is appointed as required by state or local law.
    (3)
Medical absences exempted. Only significant medical absences/hospitalization for the member or an immediate family member shall be accepted in lieu of attendance on regular meeting dates. Such absences shall not be considered in a determination for removal as outlined above.

If you can’t or down want to attend meetings don’t offer to serve. Stand down we need seasoned adults as leaders.

    Run with the PAC elsewhere!

Too bad rescheduling meetings doesn’t warrant dismissal. I mean, isn’t that why they set a calendar to begin with – avoid scheduling conflicts later…

Now now, let’s not try to scrutinize our illustrious Mayor. Far be it from us to demand that he attend the meeting he rescheduled. For all we know, he may have been making his rounds, visiting sick elderly women. “Best money I ever spent” – sick elderly woman.

#9 Since that certain former Councilwoman was not at the meeting either, she may have been with the Mayor on his charitable rounds taking notes and pictures to support her next “rah-rah Matt is great” letter to the press.
