Mayor Pringle Spins the SID

As quoted by reporter Michelle Gladden in yesterday’s Asbury Park Press:

“We are creating a conduit by which the business community can do something collectively to improve the downtown.”

He says “can”. He means must. This is not empowerment. It is the opposite. It is force. It is collectivism.

Anyone who believes in individual liberty and property rights should have opposed passage of the SID. The mayor and council voted for it unanimously.

If there is a problem with the Belmar downtown it is the result of Mayor Pringle’s actions. He first tried to take property from its rightful owners and failed. Now he is adding additional taxes to commercial property owners to pay for his new plan for improving the downtown , this too will fail. The solution is for the Mayor to refrain from insulting our out of town visitors and and provide a business friendly environment. He should stick to planting flowers.
