Yesterday’s Coast Star has a story about Belmar’s mayoral election with brief bios on each candidate. According to the story, Doherty “now works as a financial advisor at Creative Financial Group in Wall Township”. I thought Doherty must have started that job within the last few days because according to his Linkedin page he was working for George McKelvey Co. in Sea Girt until last month.
I checked Creative Financial’s “about us” web page and it doesn’t have him listed among the 47 associates working at their Wall Township office. So I called their number early this morning before they opened and punched the name “Doherty” into the company directory. It responded “Not found”.
At 9:00 this morning a call was placed to their Wall Township office. The person who answered the phone, who said that she has been working there for a year, never heard of him. She checked the company directory for every one of the company’s locations. No Matt Doherty.
I don’t know what to make of this. Maybe he just got the job and hasn’t actually started yet? Maybe he got a job offer from them that he’s planning to accept? Maybe he just had a job interview there that he thinks went well? I don’t know. His Linkedin page says he worked there in 2010 and 2011. Is he working there again or isn’t he?
(BTW, Jim Bean has been at his job at Stavola for 12 years.)

Something is amiss, how many educated adults go through 5 or 6 jobs in as many years?
I was already angry with our large debt amassed by Doherty. Now I am enraged what the truth will reveal for taxpayers.
Didn’t he get into Georgetown on a scholarship for track?
What is the truth? He is either working there or he is not.

I used to do the hiring for the company I work at and I always checked references.
