Unfortunately, most voters do not have enough information on the inner workings of a town government to make an informed decision… Therefore running against the Republican 21% municipal tax increase may give these two unqualified candidates the upper hand….

Depends on how much media brainwashing will be done. Remember the Pavilion fiasco? The Kool-Aid drinkers believed the pieeyedpipers.

#6 that slogan is a winner. The philosophy led to many Democrat victories here in Belmar over the past several years

I thought their slogan was Putting Belmar First. They did that. Belmar is fist in the number of Lawsuits, first in debt, and first in % increase in taxes. Way to go Democrats, stand up and take a bow!

    Dear republicans,

21% is 21%. the BA got a pay raise for starting his job and a new car all while spending this year, wait for it…., INCREASED.

is it OK when one side does it, then your party continues it? or because it’s “your” party you will not complain about it?

    sincerely, laughing out loud.

PS: lets bond for police vehicles when the last police vehicles bonded 4 years ago haven’t even been started to be paid back yet. As long as the new BA is driving around in style. LOL

You can make you own opinions but you can’t make up FACTS. Colleen was a personal friend with zero experience in running a Municipality. No ethics with reference to the Taylor Pavilion ,previously working for the caterer having control of the Taylor Pavillion. Helping Matt get his friend Dr. Lombardi who owns Chefs International get a cheap lease and take over the parking for the boaters renting slips, or the customers on the Party and Charter Boats. Getting sued numerous times and LOSING!!! Not paying bills, juggling the books so it looks like no tax increase. Who are you trying to fool???

Hate to disappoint, but #9 did state FACTS. If you choose to ignore them and cheerlead that is fine. But I rather stay objective and call a spade a spade. Cuts need to be made. This is ridiculous.

Look, I have always been an anti-McDirty person. He did screw us and we are now paying. What is really ticking me off is this new regime continuing to increase spending on their own pet projects, under the guise that it is ALL the blame of the McDirtys’. I voted these new people in hoping they would CUT budgets, not the status quo (which was set by the McDirtys’). I will now be voting these people out. If not, I will guarantee you they pull this same crap next election day. Too many piggies in this small little town.

Cutting salaries here and there still won’t significantly help the huge shortfall. After the forensic accounting is done i hope for their sake they don’t get indicted. They ( the council) have been absolutely irresponsible individuals. Being a Municipal Official does not give you right to do what you want.If you don’t know how Municipal Government is run you have no business being there!

Again, you have a budget and the “cuts” will come from within with conservative fiscal accounting.

What about the latest Mike Campbell incident? They have proof that he once again used his position for his own personal gain and used Boro workers in a town vehicle on the Boro’s time to move stuff from his house. And what happened? NOTHING. How can one person have so much leverage that he is able to do whatever he wants with no consequences for his actions?
If this was any other employee I am sure they would have been fired.
He is a appointed employee making over $100,000.00 for what?
I thought we voted for change, transparency, honesty and integrity. What a slap in the face. Please bring back Kenny Pringle!

A few years ago there was a letter to the editor in a small newspaper somewhere out west. The writer said, as a former drunken sailor, he was insulted by a reference to Congress spending like drunken sailors in the paper. He said whenever he was out of money, he stopped spending and went back to the ship until he’d earned more money to go out and get drunk again in another port, unlike Congress who keep spending money they don’t have. That describes our situation in this town. The spending just continues unabated.

If they want to be on the ballot in a primary they have to file an A-1 or A-2 29 days before the primary. Has nothing to do with spending or donations.
