Sounds like the “brewery tour requirement” to consume beer on the premises is a sham …. you can watch the tour on a video monitor, or smart phone, and drink to drunkenness.

I’ve noticed that the local eateries are jumping on the intox bandwagon with California winery tasting licenses …. together with D’Jais, the Brewery, the Pied Piper beer garden and ? …. there will be a lot of belching and burping in Belmar this summer.
Porta-Potties may become a major municipal budget item.

Now I am seeing a possible connection between Councilwoman Janis and her interest in traffic accidents in Belmar and the probable increase of intoxicated folks wandering the streets in the near future. Wow…Main Street can become a pedestrian mall to alleviate the number of people hit by cars. (joke) That would create more problems. New idea for a local business: bartender training school.

Maybe traffic east to west only with no turns would help every one except the business people and last but not least the residents and tax payers. Parking might become a bigger problem but we are used to it.

#5. At least we have an experienced Tourism Dept. for putting porta-potties
where they will be most politically effective.

Sad that everything will go corporate in NJ, and all food will taste the same from a test kitchen in Kansas.Corporations are the only ones who can afford to pay 1 million for a NJ liquor license.I wish NJ would at least consider a beer wine license, but the vested interests will never let it happen.

It would be quite eye-opening to Belmar residents to see some videos taken outside of these fine drinking establishments between 1:30-2:30am. One would sure see the police budget being spent along with most of the donations to the first aid squad. Belmar is quite a differnet world in the wee hours of the morning, a world that has mostly gone covered-up.

Yes, the town is awash in drunks in the wee hours of the morning. And too many bars have parking lots, which ensures that drunks hop into the car to drive home, drunk.

You should make an audio and video tape of the drunken revelry on Main st and Ocean Ave as the bars let out.

    Belmar needs more wholesome businesses.
