Due to some careless editing mistakes, some of the scenes depicted in the Sept 9th council meeting preview tape may not have actually been from last night’s meeting. I sincerely regret any confusion this unfortunate incident may have caused.
I present below the full, unedited recording of last night’s meeting.

I would love to have a written transcript of these meetings. Does Belmar ever put a transcript up?
Only April’s minutes
A couple of things, While Jim and Matt were talking, I could see the perplexed look on Mrs Nicholay’s/aka the cheerleader face, [what does this have to do with the color of my nails] she was thinking.

Brian’s idiotic analogy comparing training for refereeing children’s games with preparation for doing real, hands on adult work is as dumb as it gets.
I wish I could draw cartoons of the characters who sit upon the dais to capture some of their facial expressions. That’s all I gotta say about that.
Thanks for all you do in making this tape available to the public.
What an obvious and smug performance by Mayor Doherty as he went through his written script step-by-step as he attempted to discredit Councilman Bean. His first attack was to create some perceived conflict of interest that Bean may have because he fixes computers for his employer, who just so happens to be a major supplier of asphalt in the state. Then he keeps insisting on Bean confirming the dates that he alleges the apprenticeship language took effect in the bidding ordinance, only to cue the buffoon business administrator Collen “Charlie McCarthy” Connolly to fire-up a big screen presentation of their timeline of events. Then, as if that backfired attempt of a set-up wasn’t enough, Council President Magovern starts talking about being a trained basketball referee. This training is equivalent to that needed to build bridges or skyscrapers? That led in to Councilperson Blackburn equating her training as a commercial airline pilot. Any one day she had 200+ lives in her hands, was her training equivalent to that needed to use a hammer? Then there was Councilperson Nicolay, who pathetically contributed that her private industry employer had a list of approved vendors that their business units could work with. Boy she needs to fall asleep more at council meetings. This council via a public referendum gets destroyed on their decision to spend $7,000,000 for 2 pavilion buildings, now has a petition in front of them with 400+ voter names on it regarding the required apprenticeship program, and they still march into the fire following their smug and misguided leader, the one and only Mayor Doherty. November can’t come soon enough!
Run Matt run – as far away from Belmar as possible. Like Mexico. They put chocolate sauce on their chicken burritos down there.
It is so apparent, that the administration has been late in replacing the malfunctioning chips in many Belmar resident’s brains. There are still too many of you who find fault with the utopian view of Belmar that the vast “majority” have supported. More happy tourists, more bars, more crime, lower standards for our students and more debt with reckless spending. All with less voice and rights under the Constitution. If you are still unhappy, please call the Borough for more KOOLAID AND a CHIP REPLACEMENT.Remember till Nov.,it’s about robots ####I mean ” people not politics”
I am outraged, that the town council is subjecting taxpayers to behind the building dining now at Tupilanos. Party boy mayor does not care about citizens of Belmar.djais better get on it quick and find more phony voters to register for Matt.
How many people know that the Planning Board, at their meeting on Monday the 15th, will be considering the proposed arcade at the former site of Norwood Auto Parts across the street from the school on Main Street? Now the children can hang out there instead of attending class? Is this a good thing?
If it were not true it would be a joke.
Kids should be helping parents, grandparents, other family members, friends, the needy………Not wasteing time at an arcade.
Seem’s like the arcade may already have beed decided upon prioir to the 9/15 meet. Their new Facebook pages touts that they are opening in November … https://www.facebook.com/goplaybelmar
This is an example of the Mayor’s arrogance and confidence that his Council will pass this item. The matter is not really approved officially. It is on tonight’s (Tuesday the 15th) agenda. The people who object should show up and object, for what it is worth. The premature announcement is evidence that he does not care what the people of Belmar want or think. For the record, he was also confident the pavilion matter would pass in the last election. He was rudely surprised by the “no” vote. Champagne was probably on ice for him and his minions to celebrate in August.
