Good letter Dave. However, while your letter was correct and right on the money, I think you can agree that Claire should get a prize for the whiniest letter of the year.

I am flabbergasted after reading Mrs. Deicke’s letter referencing protecting the sanctity of a home used for a fundraiser. If the mayor and his wife invited 300 people to their house who paid to be there (play?), how on earth could sanctity be protected? The welfare of his wife and children in danger? Was each invitee investigated thoroughly and cleared to be safe and mentally sound? Were they frisked for weapons? Of course not, money talks, that is all. One child was absent, one too young to read the protesters’ signs, and the whereabouts of child number three not revealed – the kid argument does not hold water. I won’t even go into the supposed protective mother bit and her role there.

Dave’s blog and its comments can be considered mild in comparison to other sites. I am thankful that the information presented here is factual, and opinions a bit rough sometimes? So what. This is not kindergarten.

  7. "Matt's Misconduct" wrote:

Is is very shocking that Judge Gummer made an explicit point of stating in the recent ruling: “This case brought to light extensive evidence of misconduct by Mayor Doherty and the borough council…” Judges don’t use words needlessly or casually. Judge Gummer also went to the trouble to specify the Mayor’s name, I am sure no accident. Judge Gummer could have just said “Mayor”. That speaks volumes about how seriously The Court takes Matt’s “extensive misconduct”.

#7 You are misreading that quote in The Coast Star. The quote you reference is attributed to me in the article. It is not from Judge Gummer’s decision.

She probably just doesn’t know all the good work Matt has done , right Clair ? At what point does Clair write a letter to the people of Belmar apologizing for their civil rights being ignored time and time again. You don’t lose court case after court case if your not doing things the right way. Time for Clair and the rest of the kool aid drinkers to put the glass down and walk away. This could end up costing the people of Belmar millions. It’s getting old reading the Mayor calling something frivolous and ridiculous , you can’t blame people for standing up to this corrupt town council.
