if a Council candidate doesn’t speak-up at M&C meetings before election day … they would be silent on the dais after.
This guy sounds like a strong candidate, but will he do as he states above??? The last Independent candidate that ran for council lost. That was a huge mistake made by the Belmar voters…. I believe that guy would have advocated for Belmar tax payer….
There is already plenty of “public participation in the preparation and review of redevelopment plans by the municipality” at meetings. It is often ignored in favor of what the developer wants.

5-How much do you know of the three running for council to call them incompetent? What do you know of the independent candidate’s background? The Republican candidate has an impressive background, and Tom Brennan’s resume includes town involvement on many levels. So please explain why you’be labeled them incompetent.
All of the Belmar candidates seem impressive .
5, Jodi Kinney, Republican candidate for Belmar council-is a chiropractor who graduated at the top of her class. Incompetent? I don’t think so. She is savvy about all things Belmar, and has a great business sense.
#8 That is a way above average dumb statement. She’s a chiropractor. That in itself makes her qualified? Graduated at top of her class? However since everyone else is WAY below dumb, I’ll vote for her.
#8- Unfortunately she’s another Republican. Ya see where that got us. Vote independent. Vote for Gerry.

Doctors are great at helping people with medical issues… However, the vast majority are not very good at running a business… Why would they, considering they have little or no training in business operations… Most large medical practices have a business administrator running the organization or hire an outside company to run their enterprise… The others just putter along with a very inefficient organization…. Simply being a doctor does not qualify a person as the best choice for a council position…
After reconsidering I’m going to vote for Gerald. The hell with these above average political party idiots
11-You did not answer the question. Why are the candidates incompetent? Give reasons for you claim.
9-You misunderstood. Just stating that the candidates are not incompetent, as Mr. Dilberger states. The independent candidate seems qualified, as does Mr. Brennan and also the Republican candidate, Ms. Kinney. Of course, Mr. Dilberger doesn’t get it at all, and he never answered the question. Why are they incompetent, Mr. Dilberger? Three very qualified candidates.
I’m curious, has Jodi Kennedy been involved in anything in Belmar, and has she been commenting on town meetings with her goals and opinions?I have seen Jerry being very active, and Tom’s opinions have been heard while on council.

Mr. Dilberger-Why are the candidates incompetent, in your opinion? You make a sweeping generalization. then you don’t back it up, as requested. You made the statement in comment #5.
Three extremely well-qualified candidates. Tough choice for voting.
Jodi was hand picked because
1. She’s a woman
2. She’s has a family (2 elementary aged kids and husband).
3. She’s owns a business in town.
4. She’s a Republican.
She was charmed and flattered and therefore said yes.
Please, when considering a candidate, ask yourself if they will stand up for what you want. Is there any past evidence of the candidate making positive change, coming up with ideas, even just speaking at meetings… or how ’bout even attending meetings? If the last 2 are a no, please take Eugene Creamers advice in the first post.

It’s like this, one guy ran around like a hysterical 13 year old girl and carrying on about plastic bags, another guy shot his mouth off for a living and a probably nice woman who will have to be told what’s being talked about, or not. All of them unfit.

25-Reasons given are shallow and not informative.
24-Why would the woman candidate have to be told “what is being talked about?” She is capable and intelligent, as are the other two candidates. Candidates are outstanding-on all sides . What’s wrong with being concerned about the environment? The independent candidate has made very good points at council meetings. Where are you coming from about our Belmar candidates ? Unfit? I don’t think so. What person tells others not to vote? I don’t get it. You know nothing substantial about these candidates, 24. “Unfit” is an extremely negative connotation, on many levels. Talking about, “shooting your mouth off.”

As far as female women voting goes, I’m very liberal. I believe any mother who is nearly as smart as her 21 year old son[s] should be allowed to vote.

Belmar needs someone that can go through the budget and cut unnecessary expenses. Also , it appears Belmar needs someone to deal with cronyism and corruption. I would like to hear the candidates address those issues.
#30- I concur. She’s probably a sweetheart, darling. However, Belmar does not need another YES person. We need a gentleman such as Gerry that has proven he is willing to challenge the status quo and uncover wrong doings this present admin. has fallen into. Thieving Husman issue is a prime example.
Like Tom Dilberger or not, he does liven things up a bit and gives me a good laugh by saying the things no one else would or even should say.
