I think that every single person that lives in this town, visits this website, has an honest to goodness problem with the way this administration governs, and wants to put the mayor and the council on the hot seat should be in attendance. That auditorium should be standing room only. This is an opportunity folks.

Simply get a permit, make signs and be assured of freedom of speech. ( won’t happen effectively inside ). Just saying.

Aileen, please realize that there is absolutely no reason for this mayor to hold a “town hall” meeting at the school. This can very easily be done in the gym. It’s very ironic that this man wants to hold an informational Q & A at the school and will not even answer a question at his own Mayor and Council meetings. This is an absolute joke.

There is no good reason given for having this ‘event’ held at the school. So everyone go to the Tuesday Bd of Ed meeting and let them know you object to having it held there. Get off your keyboards and your duffs and let them know that ,in the absence of a compelling reason, the school is an inappropriate location for the Mayor’s dogs and ponies to show up. It is entirely within the bd of eds power to deny permission for use of the school and they should.

#18 has given you the key, a heads up that the use of the school is still open to question until approval is granted on Tuesday night. If enough people put their complaints in front of the bd it is entirely possible that the mayor’s little plan to run a controlled show will be torpedoed. Using the school facilities for what is essentially a political event is bad precedent and the bd of ed should be discouraged from opening that can of worms. They should be encouraged to avoid what will likely result in politicizing the use of their premises even if they think this ‘town hall’ is innocuous. Go to the meeting, complain so they don’t think you condone this use of the facility. Let the mayor use town hall or rent private space at his own expense.

Saturdays could be even more “hectic” for many potential meeting attendees who work Monday to Friday and use the weekend for other matters, like yard work, grocery shopping, etc. A weekday evening at 7:00 instead of 6:00 for a Mayor and Council meeting would be better – a person could come home from work, assuming she/he is a 9 to 5er, have dinner, then amble over to Borough Hall and listen to the baloney. Since the mayor does not seem to have to report anywhere to work, the meeting day or time should not matter much to him. People, Not Politics, right?
