So let me see if I get this straight. We are exspected to believe Dorehty had nothing to do with any of these appointments!!!! That Colleen an April came up with all of them? Is that even leagal? Plus when did the council go into exsecutive session to learn about the appointees. If it took weeks as Brian asked why didn’t the council know anything?
Now things are even worse in my opinion. Dorehty gets to pretend he has nothing to do with decisions made. He can blame the council!! If I asked any one of those council members who those appointees actually are, I believe bet they couldn’t tell me.
Good luck with that Mark. I see a set up. What good is a Mayor who can deny making any important decisions?

#2 Admin. Unfortunately He could care less what you or anyone else thinks. My prediction is he will continue to do what he wants, and in the end this will not end well for him if he keeps it up.

Glad to see someone questioning and not just having the council rubber stamp everything.

I believe that Magovern should have abstained from voting to appoint his brother to a position.

#3 – Sir you are correct. But let me expand a bit on what you said. When any person does what Matt is doing, there is a price to pay and the bill always falls due at some point. But in cases such as Matt (he’s by no means alone), the bill (the “Bill” is not collected as money) is not just face value. The longer it takes to pay the bill, the more interest accumulates. It’s too bad we humans have to constantly re-learn this simple lesson over the years.

Belmar in the land of done deals. It happens that the agenda of a council meeting appointing Greg Cannon as new borough atty goes out in advance of the vote. Cannon seated and acting as said new appointee, before the vote. I am sure Councilman Walsifer will not rock the boat, but I sure miss “Bean’s Rule” Not voting after the fact for payment of bills that were paid already by the Mayor, Colleen Connolly. For people new to Belmar politics, a person is de
deemed best for an appointment for their willingness to do everything, vote everyway as decided by the administration.

Then, upon receipt of certified criteria requested data compare with previous year (s) Council workshops.

And ths selections were based on what criteria in the past vs 2016 for 2017 appointments? Was there a Protocol or Guidelinesby Statute WHAT???

What communication(s) was/were made by any and all responding candidates for paid Professional position(s) for calendar year 2017, and to whom were such communication(s) reviewed and approved of prior to preparation of the Borough of Belmar Resolution calendar commencing 01/03/2017?

Meetings pass resolutions and anything else they want without the taxpayers that pay the bills can’t hear. Last nights meeting again we sit there and cannot hear what is going on. The mikes
that are sitting there are recording what is being said for the minutes. If it is to make people stay away it isn’t
working but it is disgusting and more tricks. Some of the council turn them on when they want to be heard. Buy a new set of mikes again for the people and buy the people.
