I spent my Saturday afternoon assisting a 20 year old girl that was so drunk she was passed out in front of my neighbors driveway. She had no shoes or cell phone. The only thing she remembered was an address that she had been drinking on her “way” to the beach. It was 5pm.
Suffice it to say it’s not how I want to spend my free time

And don’t even get me started about seeing a large group almost get wiped out on highway 35 crossing to the marina! I’ve had it!!!!!!!!!!!
14th to 18th Avenue houses are loaded with front porch beer pong games and not one cop stops and shuts down this illegal behavior. Be proud Belmar, we have succeeded in bringing back the lawless party atmosphere which was slowly starting to calm. How do you all like the vulgar and loud music (again illegal) blaring across the property lines?
Ken Pringle singlehandedly cleaned up the south side of 16th between A and 109 by simply posting pictures and repeating the resident slobs, foul mouthed, destructive, cretin’s dialogue and lifestyles. It finally brought to the forefront what the police knew about and others attitude was to ignore the SEA as NIMBA, so I don’t care. It was common knowledge not to take 16th south to get to the Ocean. The premier marketer still has animal house tenants and McGowan still puts them in every year and nothing happens as a consequence of disgusting behavior in front of children and business invitees in the (police term) the ghetto. Bike ride yesterday morning was from 14th in Belmar into Spring Lake. The difference is unbelievable. It’s not the million dollar houses, Belmar has a few of those. It’s what the TOWN allows to happen within their borders. They don’t allow certain behaviors so it’s not there. What Belmar has allowed to happen is just sad. Belmar can be so much more.
Matt and Wilton really screwed everyone in Belmar and Lake Como! The towns are going back to how they were in the 90’shower. Total chaos! No Cops anywhere, no tickets being written and drunks everywhere. Thanks guys, best plan ever…….not! Idiots!

Trashville is more like it. Should I kick the soiled diaper left on my lawn onto the street? Squish! “Welcome to Trashville,” I say, as someone steps out of a car onto the mess. The doggie-doo around town is not bad enough, now we have people-doo. I thought there was a pooper scooper law in Belmar, unenforced. (OK, Admin, Sophie is a good girl.)

314 16th Avenue, d’s, dem’s and dozers. All day and all night raucous, screaming, vibrations shaking the shingles off the houses. Elderly neighbors so afraid, it’s a shame. RE agent has scanner and warns of police calls. Isn’t there and alternate band dispatchers can use?

Katrina – parallel incidents on 14th. Last night about 11:30 a cab van responded to a call at rentals across the street. One of the girls got in and found a guy passed out on the third row seat. The cab driver said he’d just dropped off a van full of kids at a house in Belmar, and they must’ve left him there. Really? You don’t know your buddy has blacked out passed out dead drunk on the back seat? Or maybe you do and just don’t care? One of the girls took his cell phone and found Mom&Dad and called them. Two bike cops showed up about the same time the dad did. They literally dragged the dead weight out of the cab, carried him – the dad at the arms, a cop holding his legs- and threw him in his dad’s van. Just another summer night on the south end …
Where’s police enforcement in town on Main Street between 5th and 10th Ave? Why aren’t there any foot patrols? All I see are police driving in their vans and spec officers scooting around in golf carts. Good dam it ..do your job! Write up tickets. Today walking in the cross walk between Main Street and 5th on Klein , a car turned left right in front of me. I was 3/4 of the way across in the crosswalk..green light for me. The driver made a left turn into the right hand lane of traffic..yup! Of course I had some choice words for him. At least 6 adults standing on that corner waiting to cross to Strollos saw it.
Pedestrians walking in the crosswalks are no safer than pedestrians who walk inthe middle of the street. I have gone to the police station to express my concerns about lack of police enforcement, spoke to people on the council and pedestrian committee.
We need vigilantes! Neighborhood Watch Groups…all thru Belmar.. Let’s do it!

Belmar police officer in front of St Rose high school at mass time waiting for people to park where I got a parking ticket last Sunday. Have parked in that spot for years where we all got tickets on Sunday morning going to church. I counted three ticketed cars

Duh! It’s not about the tickets, it’s about the OT! The overtime $$$. 50+ officers working each night this weekend and every regular officer gets all the OT they want. Not to mention the Acting Chief and his 2 lieutenants making all the OT they want too! Specials work as much as they want too! Rumor has it, there are special officers working 100 hours a week! Thank goodness Wilton fell into Matt’s trap and now Lake Como has to pay 25% of it… Dummy.

Think about a liquor store hires off duty cop. All off duty earnings must go through PD payroll as part of the up and up system. Well guess what? you are paying the PENSION money for those hours at the liquor store for the cop’s pay job. Yes, all bennies too. The taxpayers eat those costs not the liquor store or nightclub either.

Can you imagine the irony of the Sidderoff property at the corner of 19th & Ocean Avenue, just sitting there with no police calls, no fights, no sqatters, no pooping allowed or no deafening noise eminating from the vacant family owned Sidderoff property, that everyone revered as a landmark, will now be considered as a candidate for condemnation by mcdirty’s council as an eyesore vs the troubled history of the NIGHTCLUB next door!!! Political machinations to enlarge a NIGHTMARE NIGHTCLUB in your SEA residential neighborhood? And you pay how much in taxes and your neighbors pay how much as well?
Will you follow this dialogue? Or will you sit back and watch the show and get your FREE end of summer thank you for putting up with $*;% all summer? I wouldn’t be surprised if you’d cry and kick yourself repeatedly when the year round liquor license is approved for the NIGHTCLUB following the retirement golden parachute plan.
Most of the class II police officers are at Bar-A, Djais and strolling the beach front. Unless you bitch and moan at the council meetings with pictures and videos of the crap you’re all complaining about, nothing is gonna happen people..
Had a brief conversation with a Belmar P.O. two weeks ago. He was in Lake Como, directing traffic off of Main St. as there was repaving going on. When asked how the added patrol work in Lake Como was going he smiled widely stating, ” All this extra money is great” referring to his traffic detail. I told him to thank me, a Belmar resident, for footing 75% of the cost for his Lake Como detail. Wake up people and vote them out, one by one, two by two.
So I’m here on our beautiful beach and I’ve calmed down a little. I’d like to apologize for calling Matt Dorhety a jerk.

Quality of Belmar visitors has dramatically declined during your reign and so has the quality of the new owners who are buying the distressed papered-over houses damaged in the storm. You are a class act over there in Inlet Terrance, ya WannaBe
We can vilify the mayor and council members all we want and find personally gratifying because we know the truth and have common sense, but the matter at hand is to disarm these no-good opportunists by voting them out. How to educate the happily ignorant, uninvolved believers in the mayor, those who trust blindly because they vote Democrat no matter what, and the recipients of freebies and booze and cheap hotdogs and whatever else, is the task at hand. More expose’ letters to the press should be forthcoming. Republican and Independent mailouts to residents with the real, true story could mean something. One thing I have discovered by talking to various folks around town, is that many residents are ignorant, happily having given the reigns of power to scoundrels without checking up on them. Some believe in vendettas and losing election bitterness by the element. Misinformation and complacency can be deadly. Look around. Are you pleased with what has happened to Belmar?

Young people won’t walk across the street if they can ride. The police dept. would go stark raving mad if the regular patrolmen were told to pound a beat.

This past week the segregationist on Facebook complained about a 10th Avenue, out of control, summer rental not being acceptable on that end of town? The temerity of redlining by that public figure is just beyond. Thank God he lost in the primary.
I think he said we need to crack down everywhere…..now that the problem has reached 10th.

Drive on Ocean Ave in Avon on the weekend. You will see an example of pedestrian safety..The mayor and police dept made this a top priority. Guess we need a new mayor!!

But the fact remains, the police are not getting out of their cars. They’re young and young people will not walk. They would defy such an order that would force them to walk.
#36, the crackdown is suggested because the imaginary line was being crossed. Now that other sectors in the borough are being affected the law should be enforced, rather selective don’t you think. Instead of improving as a family destination we are clearly going backward. The imaginary line used to be 3rd Avenue and it looks like what goes around gets aground.
Looks like a solution to pedestrian crossing on 6th and Ocean is being implemented on a cloudy, rainy day. 2 specials are on the sidewalk waving pedestrian passage. No attractions across from the boardwalk at 6th though. The attractions for beach goers are at 18th, 16th, and 8th where there are attraction but No police present to help pedestrian traffic crossing. Does traffic crossing safety have to do with use of beach utility funding for police budget reimbursement?

The officer in charge of 16th Avenue patrol advised a family to cancel contract on a new construction beach home because “they would never have peace” they would have drunks “urinating and vomiting on their lawn” apparently the police are well aware of the problem and will not enforce laws/ordinances..instead they discourage nice, smart families from purchasing here…
