As a trustee of the Belmar Business Partners I was unaware of this apparent endorsement by someone in the BBP of the Mayor’s plan for the Belmar Pavilions. Anyone who knows the least bit about this issue knows that it is political, and whatever the Mayor says at this meeting will be partisan. I for one do not like it that the BBP appears to endorse one side over the other. It is a taxpayer issue not a business issue.
I’m not sure this alone is an endorsement. Guess we have to see what is said at the meeting.
the phrases of: appearance of impropriety & abundance of caution come to mind. Since the Mayor is hosting it is political. It is not a Belmar Business issue in my mind.
No it is not what is said at the meeting It is what is NOT said at the meeting. I know I do it all the time when I meet with the five families
Can someone please explain to me why it is so important for Mayor Doherty to get these pavilions built ? The beach is fine without them. There seriously must be more to it. Why does the Mayor have such a vested interest in getting these things built ? Please, can anyone explain ?!

He wants to rent out the Taylor for additional beach revenue. We need money and if he can get it off the beach budget and use it elsewere he will. Parties, graduations, celebrations of all kinds to anybody and everybody. Occupancy will be more and liquor will be allowed. Nobody to police but that’s nothing new.
Beer and wine only, there should be no hard booze on the boardwalk ever.
More reasons for building the Taylor Pavilion? The contractor is a “buddy” who will profit, and, don’t forget an ocean view venue for holding political fundraisers for “special prices”.
