Tree looks like it needs some help and tender loving care from its nursery
May the trampling with garbage and spilled food and liquids begin! Sorry grass and trees.
At least it won’t hurt the palm tree.
A successful Seafood Festival would end the palm tree misery…
Where are the “environmentalists” especially after last year, all the car’s exhaust fumes. Oh they don’t protest unless there are Republicans in office. Never mind.
Planting trees from a tropical climate (with taxpayers money) and then not taking any steps (intentional) to ensure their survivability (damage).
Sounds like abuse to me. Write them all up, shade tree commission.
31-2.8 Abuse or Mutilation of Public Trees.
Unless specifically authorized by the Shade Tree Commission, no person shall intentionally damage, cut, carve, transplant or remove any public tree; attach any rope, wire, nails, advertising posters or other contrivance to any tree, allow any gaseous, liquid, or solid substance which is harmful to such trees to come in contact with any tree; or set fire or permit any fire to burn when such fire or the heat thereof will injure any portion of any public tree. (Ord. No. 1991-19 ยง 1)
I just read the flyer posted here and it states that if you take NJ Transit to the event in Belmar, you get a discount on beach passes if you show your Transit ticket. It’s May, no one has to pay to get on the beach. A discount during the summer just for attending a festival in May? Who authorizes this stuff? However, I hope the event goes smoothly especially for families and others that attend and all those who worked selflessly on the event. I’m going to walk up to the festival, show my sneakers, and ask for a resident discount for my season badge.
Wake me up at 8:45 can’t wait to see how Mayor Matt spins another defeat. I can hear it now we strongly disagree with the judges ruling . Talk about a broken record , in Pedro’s words just call him Daddy.
#6 -Sounds like abuse to me.

Herbal abuse – is there a lawyer to take the case?
Trees have rights
We no longer have a Shade Tree Commission at least according to the budget there is no funding.
The dead palm trees along the boardwalk are embarrassing. How much was spent on them?
Maybe the goats ate the trees
I agree with so many of these comments. What is sad is that there is so much truth in the wonderful humor! The tree thing is emblematic of what matt has done to the town.
Well the palm trees give dogs a good place to pee. God knows we don’t have any bathrooms in the park to pee.
#14 Better For Belmar. I agree with you. Their actions have caused the comments that they the Mayor and council have brought upon themselves. They continue with their left wing ideology not common sense not with fiduciary responsibility. They will go down in Belmar’s history as The worst mayor and council ever. i know of no other municipality that has been sued for not following the constitution.I thought they all took an oath but i guess in liberal land it doesn’t matter.
Coast Star… Connolly related bmar will Appeal Judge Gummer’s decision, if in fact her decision is made today in her closed chambers,
Why are we getting Lake Como Message with the Belmar Code Red messages now? Is Colleen administrator of Lake Como too? I do not need or want the Lake Como phone calls. Make separate messages.
Does the Belmar Shade Tree committee have anything to say about what is planted in the boro?? Maybe they should get option suggestions from the master gardeners that live in the boro or freehold
matt out did himself as a professional douche bag, the festival sign is just vulgar and pathetic. it does not show how smart and savvy he is but rather how small town he is (in a not complementary way.
