Bid specifications for new carting contract seem awfully specific

Read the entire document below:

Will be interesting to see how many bids come in.

Hmm, someone must have taken information from one vendor and then designed bid requirements with the intention of awarding that contract to that Vendor only…EPIC proportions of bid rigging, call the police, prosecutors, legislative bodies, call for help cause this is going to cost you booku bucks.

Why would we care if a truck is more than 5 years old ?!!! If the vendor keeps their trucks in perfect working condition, who cares how old they are ?!

It would mean you have to drag the container to the curb and back each time even if you only have a small bag of trash.
And doesn’t switching to this method usually mean one collection per week?

    I’m with you #10.

Good catch Common Sense!! Sounds to me like the sanitation company has already been chosen and requires a specific size container to pair with the lifting mechanism on the garbage truck. Sounds like a big non essential investment. Take a closer look at the contract and ask Why wouldn’t the business administrator negotiate a contract that would have the Sanitation company include Residential Trash Containers as part of their service? Your right! It does stink

How will this work when, for the most part, there are cars parked on both sides of the street everyday all day?

I can see it now “due to mismanaged bid selection there will be NO garbage pick up in Belbar on one way streets from April 15th through October 15th. ONLY authorized, automatated garbage pick up locations will have refuse collection one day a week.

Recently, TREE is a 4 letter word in Belmar …. other towns with nice street tree canopies found the trucks destructive …. along with a bunch of other problems like parking and one-way.

Don’t worry! Belmar already has a GARBAGE ORDINANCE that would require a public hearing to modify …. Everyone can tell the wizard what to do with their garbage.
