Democrats claim to be pro union and blue collar worker. But that truck appears to eliminate tasks typical completed by humans.

This is not a practical solution for the population make-up, size, and street configurations of Belmar. If they want to go to a once a week pick-up with large containers then the only solution is a rear loading arm which still requires a person to introduce the container to the vehicle. As always something stinks here.

Please explain to me how this truck is going to pick up trash on my very narrow one-way street?
Besides having parked cars on every inch of the curb, how is it going to pick up on both sides of the street? Do the arms come out from both sides of the truck? I just can’t imagine this is going to work.

People, you don’t see the big picture. Belmar will never have these types of trucks. However, since Republic does have them AND they’re probably less than 5 years old, they can bid on this contract. This is all about the way the bid specs were written and who has the ability to bid.

#6, Belmar smoke and mirrors again; you are absolutely correct. They are setting up the bid process to exclude other Vendors even if those bid specifications put forth publicly are for only one insider bidder, excluding competition and those restrictive specifications are not ever going to be applicable to Belmar.

  8. These cans are already in use. It’s just a small device on the back of the existing truck that can be used if you have the can or just do it the way your currently doing it. If it stays optional it’s fine. Keep calm, reduce recycle reuse tune in turn on and throw out.

Those cans are too big to store out of sight. Instead they are going to end up sitting on the property line next to my neighbor’s deck. I bet that will smell nice in the summer.

We all know this bd spec is nothing more than another ruse to keep out other bidders for waste management contracts. What say RICO?

  13. #9 They won’t smell anymore than the other ones, if you take the garbage out regularly. If you want let it pile up be my GUEST.
