Who was it that compared this to Belmar’s pavilions and justifying the $7 million in a APP letter to the editor? Oh yeah the Belmar Democrat chair and Doherty alter worshipper formal Councilwoman Clair Deicke. I don’t feel mislead at all after watching this video. I can see how close they are in scope and use.

Shrugged-Glad you don’t feel misled-the point is……we’re getting two pavilions for $7 million………yes……..Spring Lake Pavilion has three pools, etc..but it’s still one pavilion….what does alter worshipper mean? (did you mean altar with an “a” instead of an “e?” Your spelling means change or fixing-such as altering a piece of clothing) Don’t get it-I do support Mayor Doherty…..the town has made great strides after Sandy with his leadership……anyone who agrees with him gets slapped around by people like you-those who don’t use their real names…Belmar will benefit from improvements …….especially the new pavilions…….many people want them rebuilt by next summer..Glad you read my letter in The APP…..you and many others did, and they agree with me..Claire (with an “e” at the end)

Maybe bring some porcupines back and turn them loose at Borough Hall.

I’d love to hear how ex-council president Deicke feels about the Mayor now saying publicly that he will be using the “Buy A Board” donations to fund part of these pavillions.

Resolution 2013-85-dedication by rider-passed unanimously by te borough council-permits us to apply funds from th buy-a-board campaign …….I quote:…….”said revenue being appropriated toward the resotration and rebuilding of the boroough’s boardwalk, beachfront and other municipal espenditures as required for the rebuilding and capital projects as related to recovery from Superstorm Sandy”……this was voted on, passed, and now being put into practice-hope this satisfies your curiosity on where I stand…..as well as the other council members-it was apparently OK with the public at the time this was passed-we had no one coming to the microphone challenging this, as I recall….

Claire has always been the voice for women in Belmar. Ms. Deicki needs to deal with the fact:
The Epic contract with Belmar ( under Law) must list the number of workers in the various construction trade on A State Form. Even though 9% of construction workers are women according to the NAWIC, the old old boys network at Epic and here in Belmar, are keeping women out of the rebuilding of the pavilions. I want the buildings rebuilt. I also want people in town to walk I, not just talk it.

I know what Resolution 201-85 says Claire. Before you have any other legal defenses PLEASE GO TO BELMAR.COM click on Press Room- Scroll down to 11/28/2013 news posting. Buy a Board Campaign. READ, then click on application. If I followed the instructions, donated as asked ” by funding actual boards on your favorite block of the beach” and I donated to a block other than where Taylor and the Safety building are prposed, I’d be pissed.

Claire, not to be a stickler for details but the borough started promoting Buy-a-Board ( as our borough website clearly states Nov. 28, 2013.
You and the others voted yes on Resolution 2013-85 in reference to NJSA 40A;-5. at a March meeting In all fairness and truth ( no matter how uncomfortable ) just what NJS 40A;-5 says.

Former Council President Deicke, you are correct regarding the dedication by rider resolution. However, according to state guidelines, “there should be public disclosure at the time of contribution specifying the purpose for which the money will be spent”.(Local Finance Notice LFN 2012-25) Seems to me that if you’re going to go out and solicit funds under the premise that these funds are going directly towards the purchase of boardwalk boards then they should be used for the intended purpose.I’m guessing another lawsuit is on the way. The statement from the DCA in the Coast Star pretty much sums it up.

“BUY A BOARD” is morphing into “NOT AS DESCRIBED”
Unlike Ebay, there is no buyer protection on the Belmar dot com website.
