He is correct we need to eliminate all these one mile fiefdoms. We can’t afford the cost of empty schools ,how many childcare left in Avon public school 25-30 students per grade maybe.

This idea should have been considered a long time ago. The powers to be should also consider virtual classrooms. What the hell do I know I’m old. Got to get more aspirins before the storms come. Bye for now.

No matter what happens, not one of these parasitic deadbeats/”teachers”/principals/ etc. will lose their “jobs.” What has to be done is for all “schools” to shut down (in the meantime, I would suggest block associations teach children until the new model education can be put into practice – no former teachers of the discredited “schools” would be allowed near the children)for a period of years until a useful concept of education can be established so that the children of today may be taught things that are pertinent to their lives. Obviously the venders and other leeches who’ve attached themselves to the vital organs of the taxpayers would howl like crazy if ever my ideas were put into practice, which of course they won’t be.

Sweeney is correct in consolidating school districts…. It will save money and provide a better education for all… But the teachers UNION will never allow this to occur… The teachers UNION, like all other UNIONS are simply vampires….

Send the kids to Wall, or buy them a laptop and let AI teach them, no teachers. Sell the school to DePepp. He can make money converting them into senior living (no more kids). Use the money to pay off the debt and balance the books, hence no tax increase. I said this two years ago.

#5 – Sir/Madam, you have little idea of unionism. Public sector workers are not unionists. They didn’t form their cabals until all the bloodletting was over and unionism had gained its rightful place in our society. Call them whatever you want but please don’t call their organizations unions or teachers unionists. Watch the video below and you’ll get a small idea of what it took for common people to get what they were due. What you see are good people, not the type who leech off the taxpayers.

Both my husband Doug and I served as Belmar Board of Educatiom members….not at the same time. He served for 18 years, and I served for six after I retired from teaching. During both our terms the consolidation of school districts was a regular topic for discussion and consideration. One consideration was for Belmar, Spring Lake and SlH to consolidate. Another was Belmar and Wall combining, and Belmar, Bradley Beach and Avon were discussed as yet another possibility . None of these considerations came to pass because districts couldn’t agree on tuition…or cost per pupil. Costs of transportation was another issue. Salaries were different for teachers and administrators (different steps of contracts) in the various schools, so adjustments would have to be made in that area. I always supported the idea of consolidation, but district reps differed on the various issues before them. Some of the district reps didn’t want to surrender control, and chose to opt out of any plans for consolidation.

#8…. Unions almost destroyed the American automobile manufacturing industry. The Unions had a choke hold on Ford, GM and Chrysler, bring them to near bankruptcy, until the US government bailed them out…. But European and Asian automakers produce vehicles in the Southeast US where there are no unions… These companies successfully produce high quality cars… Only difference is no VAMPIRES…
#9… The reason school consolidations were unsuccessful is two simple reasons… Most individuals on BOE’s dont know how to get it done and UNIONS dont want it done….

#10 – My first point was there was/is a need for unions in the private sector of our economy. But when any radical idea finally becomes acceptable, a bad sort of person worms his way to the top. That’s what happened with GM and Chrysler. Remember, Ford didn’t bailout. But for the most part, unions are still good for the workers (did you look at the video?).

Secondly, The educational industry, it is in fact a defunct concept, kept on life support by the government (motor vehicles are still used extensively). It doesn’t do what it was set up to do. As a matter of fact, many of our young people who are forced to take part in it come out slightly backward intellectually after the process of compulsory education is completed.

#10… In todays day and age there is no place for unions… It is impossible to run a business with a third party dictating what employees can and can not do…. Also, unions place ALL employees on even playing field concerning wages and benefits…. Unfortunately all employees do not contribute to an organization at the same efficiency.. I want my best employees to be paid the most, UNIONS don’t allow for rewarding the best. Everyone is equal and gets the same negotiated compensation. And yes I did which the video…..

#18-So you don’t think BelmarEagle was complimenting me with those kind words of “No one cares what you think”? I consider any reaction to my words complimentary. BelmarEagle is taking notice of my posted information, and that’s great! Passing on helpful facts…not opinions… Is always a good thing. Perhaps Belmar Eagle didn’t realize..or was unable to comprehend..that my words weren’t what I “thought” but what actually occurred. But I’m still complimented by BelmarEagle ( and also #15) …although both couldn’t comprehend the difference between fact and opinion. Thank you, #18, for knowing that I do doze off from time to time! Love that BelmarEagle opened the door for me so that I might explain to him/her the intent of my posting.

  22. Claire, sadly you make me chuckle with your holier than though attitude. You think your so intelligent and speak down to people. Your the greatest for all your public service especially your following of the Pied Piper Doherty. You hide away from the real issues that plagued this town such as lawsuits, financial ruin, the new Marina night club, overdevelopment, I could go on and on. You dont dare speak of how the Doherty/Connolly admin destroyed this town. You just harp on how wonderful you are. I hope you have a nice Easter. I’m tired and am going to bed. Good night.

If I were a council member during Doherty’s reign as mayor and supported virtually all of his proposals by voting yes on them, I would hang my head in shame. If I claimed that everything is fine afterwards, I would not appear in public and boast how much people have loved me and what I have done.
But that is me. Being mislead is unfortunate and redemption is always possible. Happy Easter and Passover. New beginning at hand.

22 and 23-I was merely responding to BelmarEagle and 15. Would have never addressed them on this blog otherwise. Wow! All of this because I posted facts about schools consolidating! You both read a great deal into my remarks. Very imaginative and creative! You read into my words that I think I’m intelligent, and that everyone loves me ;so be it. Lots of anger…even with the chuckle. Both 22 and 23 show a deep-seeded dislike for me. You really showed your hands . Holding such anger over a period of time isn’t good for one’s health. I’m sure I like both of you. Glad you’re hiding your identities so that I don’t who you are. I advise both of you to get involved with community service. It would do you both of you a world of good.
