For the second time Governor Chris Christie has ordered state facilities to fly their flags at half mast to mourn the passing of drug and alcohol-addled entertainers. While New Jersey natives Whitney Houston and James Gandolfini were both very talented and very nice people I’m sure, neither one of them was any kind of hero. I believe the criticism of Christies actions are justified. There are many that are more deserving.
I have a solution: Fly the flags at half mast every day of the year. I’m sure that every day some really cool New Jersey native dies. So let’s just make every day a day of mourning. Maybe we could just start buying shorter flagpoles.
