Here in nj the marijuana question passed. The aspirants for the pot czar position (the agency the state will create to oversee the distribution of pot) are stepping up their efforts to get that job. Lord only knows what degenerate acts they’re being asked to perform in front of a packed audience (maybe some nasty things with barnyard animals) to get the job.

The politics in Belmar will never change. A way below average intelligent group. BTW the independent candidates have a way way below average change of winning. In this case it kept Tom in office.

#2 Never change? There mayor and all but one of the council members is Republican. How is that not different than just two years ago? Brennan probably won because he’s got a well organized machine behind him and because Mark has become increasingly unpopular. Mark embraced (hand picked) the Republican candidate and so she was dragged down.

#6 then run for council. I mean everyone else is so incompetent, let’s see what you can do. Complaining about it doesn’t seem to work.

When murphy picks the pot czar, you can be assured it will be an interesting “person”/weird freak of some sort. But it’s main characteristic will be a complete inability to run even be a reasonably successful street drug dealer. Certainly it will have a diploma from a highly regarded academy of higher “education.” One can only imagine the group of total misfits that are under consideration for the post.

#10 oh I know who you’re describing. His name rhymes with slump. Already doing the only thing in his life he’s ever loved, suing people.
And since you seem to be ill-informed- criminals loot. No one has looted because of a campaign loss. No one has rioted because of a campaign loss. There were some Trump supporters in AZ last night that were protesting. What were they protesting you ask? Counting ballots. They don’t like that. The poll workers, American citizens doing their job, had to be escorted to their cars by armed police officers.
The mirror is all yours my friend.

#11 I think the newly single Matt Doherty would be a shoe in for the weed czar post. Dim witted, unaware of his surroundings, slow to make decisions, ethically ambiguous. I think he’d be perfect.

The people of Belmar blew it this election! And while I am party to the mistake made I made in the last election I was hoping that I could compensate from that mistake in supporting Gerald Buccafusco. He was the the only legitimate candidate that had the experience, knowledge and fortitude to have made Belmar Better.
I am sure that the other two candidates are very nice people however being a nice person is not the primary qualification to serve on a town council and make decisions on the community’s behalf…. knowledge and experience is.
Citizens of Belmar you missed the Boat! When you go fishing you don’t pick a captain because they’re a pal or is a nice person…. you pick the captain because you have confidence he’ll bring ya to the fish.
All you did by not voting for the most qualified person is stagnate a community.
    Happy fishing !

#14 that’s true but by that logic- 83% didn’t want Jerry and 65% didn’t want Kinney. So the guy with the least amount of people that didn’t want him, wins. Politics.

#21- that would mean you vote on a Tuesday and you don’t hear the results for nearly a week later. That wouldn’t go so well. Especially in this world of instant gratification. We’re all watching a handful of states but the reality is that almost all 50 are still counting. Or at least were yesterday.
