Thanks Dave for the heads up on Council Meeting Agenda for meeting tomorrow.

16th Avenue, a County roadway is dangerous as a two way street. Numerous car swiping over the years commonplace before the One Way signage is posted. Inasmuch as BELMAR Police Department are charged by the County to enforce laws we should be in a position to recommend a permanent one way solution to a traffic nightmare.

If there is an impending evacuation notice streets/directions can be changed, by executive order, to go in a westerly direction.

16th Ave should absolutely be kept a one way all year round. 2 cars can not fit on that road.

16th Avenue One-Way is a fundraiser …. send money to elected officials in Lake Como or Belmar.

Prohibit parking on one side of the street. Or widen the road.

Personally living on 16th we enjoy two way. It slows traffic in front of our house instead of cars recklessly speeding by. That being said I am sure Doherty will now make it permanent one way!

Noreen-Does your proposal for a one-way 16th Ave. include the entire stretch of road, or just your area? I know that during the summer 16th in your neighborhood is one-way. We live off of 16th west of Route 71. I’m giving your idea thought …wondering how your plan would work in the Rhode Island Point section of town…

Fait accompli. 16th one way. The Gods have spoken finally.

Let your insurance companies know about the wisdom of making too narrow streets one way in Belmar. Could be lower premiums out there.

I hope everyone realizes that, at the urging of Belmar PD, the mayor and town council are considering making ALL the seasonal one-way streets into year-round one-way streets — not just 16th Ave as mandated by the county. We personally are opposed to this measure. Four and a half months of one-way on our street is quite enough! We would like to have the peace and quiet back in the off season instead of living on a thoroughfare with speeding cars at all hours.
