  1. I have to ask myself why the Monmouth County Democrats have decided to spend so much money in Belmar on our local election? Could it be that they want to mask Brian Magovern and Janice Blackburn’s voting deficiencies on the Belmar Council? Brian and Janice should be talking about the thousands of dollars spent on attorneys fees stemming from their bad decisions instead of talking about the money we spend to educate our children.
Spending the money to attack our school system when every board member, past board member, school administrator, teacher, aide, etc., whether retired or not, know of the difficulties that our schools in Monmouth County face balancing their budgets. Attacking me on my voting record is a direct attack on our school, our staff and the children of our Belmar community.
Every school district in Monmouth County is under the same constraints. The Monmouth County Democrats should be spending their time and money helping fund our small school districts instead of wasting money on campaign smear fliers. Brian Magovern and Janice Blackburn should hang their heads in shame allowing this type of smear campaign to happen in Belmar. This is the reason why I am a Council candidate because of the way our current governing body has torn our town apart. This has to end!
Because I voiced my opposition to the way the governing body decided to put together the shared services deal with Lake Como, I am now labeled anti-shared services. My opposition was because of the way the deal was structured. Great for Lake Como, bad for Belmar. My record on the school board shows I am a strong proponent of shared services as long as it’s good for Belmar, not some other town.
I believe the Belmar voters are smart enough to see these fliers for what they are, and will vote for the positive change we so desperately need in Belmar.

Point 2. Well, if they are referring to the Police contract with Lake Como, they are not telling the whole story. The $10M over 10 years is in payment for the additional policing of Lake Como. The $10M goes to paying these costs. Matt and Council concocted with Wilton to SAVE Lake Como more that $12M over the next ten years. They (M&C)
layed off 10 veteran, seasoned Police Officers in Lake Como to hire 5 Rookie Police Officers in Belmar saving tons of money. ALL those savings revert back to Lake Como. We, the people of Belmar now subsidize Lake Como’s policing costs. There are fewer, less experienced Officers on the roads of both Belmar and Lake Como than before. That, along with a disproportionate number of calls handled in Lake Como result in Belmar taxpayers getting less security for the dollar. Belmar will never MAKE money on this deal. The Police Dept. has a blank check for overtime and unnecessary promotions. I can’t speak for Mark, but perhaps if he had been on Council then, he may have been able to speak up about this bad deal. Fewer less experienced Officers could perhaps lead to additional lawsuits, bringing me to…
Point3. I don’t know the particulars regarding Mark’s lawsuit more than 10 years ago, but if he was victorious, apparently some Judge or jury found that Belmar was wrong. Sort of like the last 10 lawsuits Belmar has lost and spent $Ms on since Matt and the council persons have been in charge. I am tired of paying for these high priced, hand picked, northern attorney’s to lose.
VOTE THESE CROONIES OUT- VOTE FOR MARK AND JOSH

Mark you and Josh should carry on as
You are. The difference in the last
vote tells the story. It was an honest
true feeling of the town. Enough of all
Of this nonsense the town is going under. Who can afford any of this? It is to bad the numbers do not come out before the election.

In talking with Mark and Josh, they insisted they wanted to run a clean positive campaign. I of course was skeptical because, as a member of “the element” I have seen first hand the tactics of this Mayor and Council. The distortions of facts, the uninformed voting of our council. The hours I spent in Freehold courtroom listening to the arguments on both sides in the law suits only reinforced my opinion.
Janis and Brian may be “nice ” people but this is not a popularity contest. If they really had any independent thoughts, they would be appalled at this smear tactic. But just like they voted in lock step with Dorehty without being informed they probably didn’t know anything about this mailer. If they did, they should be ashamed, if they didn’t it’s business as usual here in Belmar.

    10. being selectively “nice”, that is to certain people, which is the case with Nogovern and Blackie does not qualify them as nice. I have numerous first hand experience. Who ever told you, or led you to believe that Janis was popular? I was thrown under the bus by the two of them, I have forgiven them both but not forgotten the ordeal.
