The mayor said at a recent council meeting that he is not going to change the plans for the pavilions. How can the costs to build them now be 6.1 million.

This guy is unbelievable!!!!! I’m speechless. Though why anyone is surprised ( myself included) is beyond me. Can he circumvent the special election like that? Don’t our votes count for anything? Oh and if forced to another special election by referendum don’t start with that ” the element is causing us to waste money ” BS. We want to stop spending Oh and by the way where did all the 20 mill we borrowed to build the boardwalk go? And when and how much is that payment due!

#10. Judy that is the point (or at least one of them). Actually after spending too much time with the accounting, the Taylor Pavilion can wait till hell freezes over at that price. The 10th Ave. Safety Building should only be 1 Million Max. The Mayor is saying spend less than 15% before change orders and throwing the voters under the bus. It’s my way or the highway. Too bad he and the other officials think we live in a Democracy and not a Republic. Their lesson will now be hard -learned.

Hopefully after the clerk problem is resolved other things will pop up and the spending will cease, until hopefully a new regime is in place but we will have to wait and see. I have never seen a mayor that doesn’t care what a Judge has said in the past.

Admin: I was just paraphrasing Redevelopment Atty. William Northgrave whose argument in Lawson’s Court was the election and not the issue. His argument was the majority of voters, voted for this mayor-therefore if he tells everyone to jump off the cliff…
