What, Us Worry?

Just as we get here, Hampton experiences Legionnaires’ outbreak.

Of course Karen and I aren’t the least bit concerned about it and the work of moving into our new house continues apace.

And in local Belmar news…..

Lifeguard squad converting to all-drone force.

I was just told that this years supervisors seasonal salary Memorial Day to Labor Day with minimal experience was five thousand dollars more than the previous supervisor who had 43 years of experience. Obviously it pays to kiss the ring.

Of course he was. “In” Kerechman was hired because he was friends of Campbell, not because he was qualified because he wasnt. All the rank and file guards make crap. The beach was ruined this year except for the 20 or so 16 and 17 year olds who don’t know better. Doherty, McGovern, Houseman and Connolly screwed up and they know it. Let’s see what the salaries are next year.

Does anyone remember the Public “Hot Tub” Concessions over on 4th and Ocean? Talk about diseases in Communal Hot Tubs and their aftermath! Just inhaling…ha, ha. Ha could put you into the hospital. There are CDC records of the # of EBV cases where ground zero was …, no you guess.

Then of course there was the 7/11 case where over 125 identified people contracted Hepatitis which required treatment. Wonder who that dirty food handler was getting so many sick?

Lifeguard/ BBP- I find it appalling you slander your own on a public forum. You should be ashamed/ reprimanded. You have an issue go to your bosses, mayor, council person, a meeting and take it up there. I just find it distasteful to do that here.

I remember a lot of things between 4th and 5th. I don’t remember hot tubs but I do remember a huge swimming pool and lockers that a lot of people enjoyed.
Unfortunately it was Condo time and the
pool was demolished along with the
lockers. The Condos continued up 5th with apartments and the apartments then became Condos. End of story there but it certainly has continued around town
    In a timely manner.

#5 Shame. Your apparently out of the loop. The mayor and council created this whole debacle for us. The acting police chief, just wants bodies qualified or not. The new guy they hired is completely incompetent and unqualified. In way over his head. We have voiced our concerns many times on deaf ears. Thank God the water was calm and no one drowned.

I remember the hepatitis outbreak that was linked to the 7-11 on Ocean and 8th. An employee wasn’t practicing proper hygiene. Early 90’s if memory serves.
No sure what it has to do with lifeguards.

#10, thanks Dave. It was obvious that health issues must be dealt with immediately. Not hidden or not acknowledged publicly bc it might negatively affect TOURISM BS.

#2-You really have no idea what you are talking about. Director of lifeguards did not get the job because he knew Campbell. He has many years of experience and if I recall there was rip currents this year and oh shocker nobody drowned. Give the guy a break and perhaps know what you are talking about before assuming you know the facts

I have to agree. I wouldn’t know the guy if I fell over him. But knowing who picked the guy, I’d bet a whole lot of money the guy’s experience is in staying away from any type of real work. We’ve got an abundance of characters like that running around loose here in NJ and I think a lot more like that move here just to get in on our NJ scams (sort of like a gold rush).
