We do not need a $4.1 million dollar pavilion. Vote “no” to excessive spending. Let’s prioritize Belmar and its residents first! Infrastructure and quality of life we can make Belmar back to a being a fair playing ground where all residents matter equally. We need to start by voting for “YES” Dave Schneck and No to $4.1 million for one pavilion.

Like a lot of Belmar folks my days are busy and I keep a priority list in mind. Today’s no exception. My priority Item 1: Go to Borough Hall and Vote YES for Dave Schneck and NO on the pavilion question. Hopefully my priority is your priority.
Great pictures. Since the town is unable to maintain our current sidewalks, fences, buildings, bulkheads, etc., the last thing we should do is approve another building that has to be maintained. VOTE NO!

The rest of the Boro does not matter to them they have no pride in what the areas that need fixing. They Want a Ritz Carlton Pavilion on the beach and if you don’t like it tough. Screw the residents we want more kids and drunks to visit all the bars. Make sure you vote NO and Vote for Dave.
Most Municipalities theme is move to x a great place to raise a family. Belmar’s is Come to Belmar a great place to get drunk and pee and throw up on mean people’s front lawns.
Hi Admin…..Just wondering,was the article on the blog from last week for ribbon cutting ceremony for home by summer removed?I cant seem to find it and I wanted to go over some information that was posted so before I started with a concern I have I had my facts straight.Now I know there is so much happening in Belmar today and maybe this is not top priority but I feel it is just as important when looking at all that the Mayor is doing to make himself look good and cover up all of his dirty work.I kept thinking back to the whole press conference/ribbon cutting ceremony all week because something did not sit right with me and I am wondering why they held it,was it to make him look good before elections,was it to cover up that they have a complete mess going on with Ms Keefe’s house and to have people stop breathing down their backs over all that we have uncovered that is not right since the start of the rebuilding.Because i will tell you I drive by this house every night on my way home and this family has not moved backed yet.There is no one there.I think the whole thing was a sham and a lie and whats even more disgusting is that if this is the case Ms Keefe sat here on every news channel lying to public and putting on a very good act,and even worse has her child Shaun doing the same.Most of us already felt like all of his interviews were coached especially being that fact he was reading from an Ipad at the podium.She went on through all of her interviews to talk about how family dinners were going and checking in on her children while they slept.Even the house looked staged,looking like they just threw some comforters on the kids beds ,put up some dream catchers to make it look good.why didn’t they show the rest of the bedrooms or house? to this date there is not one shade or curtain up in the house .from the day of the interview the brother has parked his car in front of the house,from where it has not moved and the house has been pitch dark every night since the interview.Trust me there is no one living in this house yet.so what are they hiding and why this whole press conference with all of these officials.The whole thing was a lie and obviously everyone who took part in this day knew about it and played along.I’m sure the neighbors all know the truth.Sorry to go on with this little rant but whats right is right and whats wrong is wrong.And each and everyone of them including Ms Keefe should be held accountable.The Mayor,Colleen,the council and all involved that day had to know.What are they hiding and how long are we going to let them get away with this!I wonder how Senator Booker and Mr Pallone and especially Senator Menendez who is already involved with some foul business if they truly knew all of the facts and wrong doings through this entire fundraiser.

I apologize Admin,I really could have sworn there was a post up with the house and the whole ribbon cutting ceremony,but then again we have seen so much and read so much I may be confused .None the less I hope people take a good look at this and see how wrong this whole thing is .Its like a slap in the face to everyone who has help this family to rebuild and get home.I cant wait for the truth to come out and for all parties involved to be exposed.The Mayor and Ms Keefe have made fools of everyone.and after last week they all went home laughing feeling like they got this whole thing over on everyone without getting caught.
What else is funny is if you go on the Belmar website they are still collecting Home By Summer donations.

They sure are up to something. Between the family not being there and the Belmar website still accepting donations. I thought you couldnt profit from a donation. So I cant see how they could flip the house. But then again they built a 458k house with 120k so I guess anything is possible.
17 they can do anything they want They are Democrats with big egos and a sense of entitlement to themselves. I cant wait for this to end.
Dave. Maybe when you get the council seat you can look into all the wrongdoing with the Home By Summer campaign.

#21 South Side,I did watch it and I’m not sure if you were pointing something out.This interview is no different from the rest,All I see is Ms Keefe sitting with her smerk while saying how fabulous family dinners are and a staged house with barely anything in it.no sign of a table and chairs for family dinner.At the time of this interview they claimed to be home for what a week.Funny there was no clothing or anything for that matter in any of the bedrooms and like i said I live in that neighborhood and I’m telling you no one is there,They stop by during the day and wait to pick up the children and they are gone.They leave a car parked there over night and one light if that on to make it look like someone is there.One thing that I did notice is that at the end of the interview they show the house right next door which was damaged and still has not been restored.Where was the help for them.It was all just one big show.
I was there and asked about the house next door (to the left). It looks unoccupied. I wondered why none of the Press seemed to inquire about that house.
#23….I know they are there on the weekends and summer.It is there second home but its also their retirment home that I know they need help with and to date has had no help from the town or fema.Actually they were there today!and from what I understand are very close to retirment.
I am sure the Mayor made sure to tell the news reporters to just stay on the Keefe’s house. I believe the house next store is a Veterns retirement home.
All right. I’ve had enough. Cathi I can tell you the story about the house next door. I know it because the owners are my sister and brother in law! They were just getting to retire and move full time to Belmar when sandy hit. They are in their 60’s and bought that house around 2007. The house has been deemed to not be structurally sound enough to be lifted. They like are fighting with insurance and because it was their second home, no FEMA money. I’ve held my tongue about HBS but I can’t take it anymore. I don’t begrudge others getting help but when the politicians stroke themselves how wonderful they are with these great photo ops and talk about how everyone is home it absolutely turns my stomach
#26 both of those houses were deemed structurally unsafe. I believe thar 1004 14th ave deserves the money more than 1002.
Katrina I am so sorry for your family. While I think HBS was thought to be a good idea… I can’t imagine why anyone thought helping just two homeowners in a town that had so many homes damaged and destroyed was a good idea. I wish there was something I could do to help.
Just saw Cty site, 5 of 5 districts reporting and Yes just one percent above with yes vote. Next lawsuit pending I would guess. What, don’t people understand what is going on? Don’t know if that counts absentee or provisional ballots. Really close. Very surprised.
Katrina I’m so happy you spoke up because no one family deserves more than another.I don’t care who’s house is the main home and who’s house is a second home.Truth is your sisters home may be their second home but unlike the Keefe home your sister was paying a mortgage,and they maintained their property nicely and cared for the home.where the Keefe home was constantly in foreclosure and in broken down condition before the storm,filthy and not maintained in or out ever.Your sister and brother in law are as deserving if not more deserving of any help Belmar was offering.Makes me laugh “Belmar takes care of its own” Funny they don’t consider a person with a second home in Belmar one of their own but they will take their money.I hope your family finds the help and relief they need to get back home soon.
Finally some common sense for Belmar. We get the pavilions back, better than they were both in terms of usefulness and structure, and a minimal tax increase. It is truly a great day for our town.
The voters weren’t told there would be a “minimal” tax increase. They were told there would be no tax increase.
Matt Doherty said free, free means free, no cost to taxpayers of Belmar. I look forward to watching this.
I think I am a prime example of Belmar taking care of their own Senior widow health issues and after the storm
I am told I’m not on the list for a gift card because I turned my own electric off when I am 3 houses away from the fire. My case is your not 1 of their own if you don’t support them. But look at the ones he thinks supports them. The other lady on 8th ave was standing on her porch the other day looking at where the dumpster was it was gone and all the trash was on the front yard. I wonder what she did wrong or if she was part of the act.
Dear Tulip….Thats horrible.whats funny is I dont think the Keefe family supports them either and alongvside of all the hardwork her ex huisband did working for the town for fifteen years,I dont think she or her family ever took part or contributed anything to the town.In all the years I’ve been apart of things taking place in town we never even saw her face.So I dont really know what the motivation behind what Matt has done for this family is.At least with the other woman and her family,she is a contributor so you almost get it.Im very sorry for your situation.
We still have a unethical mayor and 4 defective bobble heads unfortunately their heads only work up and down. That’s OK we will be watching and so will the Judge.
