Last weekend at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire:
All public beaches in New Hampshire are state parks (free admission) and the state tourism people promote them heavily. I’m sure the locals really appreciate that.
BTW, Hampton is a rather large town and has a few beaches. The above photos are in the commercial part of town, with shopping, restaurants, arcades and bars. We plan to move a few miles up from there to the north end of Hampton Beach, which is a more residential/wooded area with much quieter beaches (almost no public parking in the area.)
